Snowy
Cheeky Beryl decided that she'd had enough of the wild bird food being out of bounds! Look at her! Little Madam!
Mrs Webmuppet
My chickens would get to the bird feeder if they could. Instead they hang about under the feeder hoping that a bird will come along and throw some seed down! Your pic just goes to show how devious chickens are! Lesley
That made me smile Makes a change from wild birds eating the chicken feed Our protection pens open into open runs - the little garden birds have taken to walking in and eating from the hens feeders. Louise
I mix wild bird mix in with my layers pellets to give them a bit of variety one scoop wild seed to three scoops pellets they love it and I don't get soft eggs Mind you the wild birds that can get their heads through the mesh help themselves to what gets scattered I can't feed the wild birds as it would be too tempting for my three demons
Helly Welly
Mine make for the bird table as soon as they are let out to see what the wild birds have dropped. Anyone would think i didn't feed them
Yorkshire Pudding
Mine have to be fenced out of the wild bird feeding area or they stuff themselves silly. Incidentally, I don't know about a chicken that thinks it's a blue tit but we have a sparrow who looks like a penguin. He has a deformed spine and stands very upright but hunched over. He can fly short distances and seems to keep up with the flock quite well, and because we and our neighbours put out plenty of food he has survived to adulthood. I've never managed to grab the camer in time to photograph him!
chocchick
Heh heh - they are resourceful when it comes to food arent they! lovely pics! My Katy ignores the small amount I feed her from my hand and follows the bag of food in my other hand, as if to say "I'm not stupid you know!" Those pictures are so funny, chickens are brilliant in their search for food.
