Christian
Hello All! I'm here, just in from a day trip out - work related - not pleasure! Still feel like yuck, will have to go to the Doctor's I think. The ice cream was Ben and Jerry's Phish food btw
hillfamily
sorry you still feel rough make sure you go to the docs, get plenty of rest and eat more ice cream
Lesley
I told you it didn't sound like hayfever when you phoned I hope you get to the doctor's tomorrow and get it sorted out
Christian
Sorry Matron. Strange thing is, i feel rough when I wake up, semi normal (no jokes please ) during the day and really rough at night! At least I can gorge on ice cream!
Egluntyne
Folk are dropping like flies with this in Sheffield. Don't struggle on...go to the Doc's and get a precscription for some Ben and Jerry's.
xChicken04x
Sorry your feeling unwell Christian. I think I have the same illness, sore throat, achy joints, horrible chesty cough, stuffy nose etc Not nice. I can't have ice cream as I have completely lost my appetite, only drinking water with the odd biscuit. I'm not going to bother with the doctors, all I get is "Paracetamol and water with plenty of rest" . Plus I don't want to go and spread germs everywhere, or get anyone else's. I wake up in the morning feeling awful, get a bit better during the day, then go down hill in the evening. I can't sleep because I'm coughing too much and my temperature is up and down, one minuted I'm freezing cold, the next I'm boiling. I suspect I have some sort of tonsillitis I'm slowly getting better though, hope you are too! xx
Ain't Nobody Here
You poor thing . That sounds really horrible . Hope you both get well soon .
Snowy
Sorry you are still not feeling any better - do go to the docs if it doesn't seem to be improving, these things often start out as viral, but you can end up needing antibiotics after all if you get a secondary bacterial infection Poor both of you
Christian
Sorry to hear that you feel bad too xchicken04x! OH swears by Beechams powders that you dissolve in cold water They are good though and you can gargle with them (if you can stomach it ) (they come in little paper envelopes) Try Merocaine throat sweets. They numb everything I am feeling better as the days go by though, been 3 days so far.........! Hope you start to feel better soon C x
redhotchick
There are a lot of sore throats on this forum at the moment. I wasn't going to stick my oar in and take away what little pleasure you have when you have a sore throat BUT...it has been suggested that ice cream may in fact not be so good for sore throats. Sorry, please don't all shout at me at once! Home made chicken soup with lots of garlic and some chilli is my suggestion.

Not yours of course, that was finished before you pulled out of the drive It is the sitting still that is the problem Pam. Both lawns need doing but I am not allowed! Mrs Webmuppet
Hope you feel better soon. It's no fun having to do nothing when all around you the jobs pile up (speaking as another 'can't sit still person').I can highly recommend Ben and Jerrys Cherry Garcia ice cream ( its even got a little bit of fruit in it so its got to be good for you!) I am only allowed to be ill when I go to my friend Janes for a few days........I arrive , flop onto her sofa........within 24 hours a lergy will get me , its become a joke ( she even stocks up with various medications as a precaution ).
