Dogs!!! Who'd have them!!! Grrrr...........

Recommended Posts

I'll set the scene :lol:

Barney, 14 weeks old, we'd just got to work. I gave the dogs their morning cup of biscuits and rushed to the phone to call my MIL - she was due to come in but I was feeling awful and full of cold, she has no immune system so I didn't want her in.

Heard a crunching of plastic - thought Barney had found another plastic bottle, looked down to see a rapidly disappearing packet of Nurofen :shock:

He had pulled my scarf off the desk and the painkillers under it....

Put both dogs in the car and rushed to the vets, where they we both made sick ( just in case Dylan had been involved :roll: ) and kept in. We went back later to collect Dylan and they really weren't sure whether Barney would make it.

Next morninig they phoned to say he would be fine - and when we went to collect him she brought him out telling us he was a bloomin' nutter :lol:

£250 later, Barney still goes rushing in to the vets as if they are his best friends. :roll:

He's also licked all the copper wire off the back window in our car - it won't de-mist anymore :roll::lol:

Ooops!! :lol::lol::lol:

Jazz must be the only known labrador to not be greedy :shock: She eats just what she wants from her food bowl and will leave some when sh'e had enough. We can leave to food cupboard door open and she won't bother.......

J Cloths however are a different matter :twisted: - I opened the lid of the bin this morning and there was another shredded J Cloth :twisted:

:lol::lol::lol: What a daft lot they are - how did dogs manage to survive extinction I wonder, with their eating habits? :lol: My old retriever, Ben, was pretty good, but one year he sucked all the chocolate tree decorations out of their wrappers, leaving the empty foils still hanging on the tree! 8)

My brother's black lab was the worst - they came to visit one Christmas and the dog ate a whole, 20 lb, honey glazed ham that I'd just taken out of the oven! Most expensive dog dinner ever :roll::lol:

The OH's beagle once ate a can of dog food that hadn't been opended. She just pierced it with her teeth and then managed to crush it to get the food out. Beagles do love their food though. She also jumps up to break the lower branches of the apple trees to get to the apples. She is so greedy. :lol:

This thread is so funny :lol::lol:

My Jack russell terrier was very sick one Christmas when he was a puppy and after a few days of things not improving we took him to the vets. We were sent away to see how he went for another day or two and when things had got no better the vet operated and found a bin liner in chunks and a few marbles! I think he must have been after some tasty christmas leftovers in the bin, and helping himself to the kids toys.

Hes ok though and it is his 9th birthday today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OSCAR!! :D

He does still have a very touchy tummy though!

When i was younger my uncle came to Sunday dinner and brought his black lab Sam with him.

At the time the oven had a pull down door and so mum took the chicken out, unwrapped the foil and rested it on the door. She went to reach up for a knife to check it was cooked and in the meantime Sam walked by and helped himself to the whole chicken :shock:

Mum was spitting chips! :lol::lol::lol:

Love these stories - and I thought it was just my dog!!

Jasper (ESS) has eaten, amongst other things, at least 3 dog leads (one of which belonged to another dog tied up near him), a seatbelt, a metal comb, numerous Early Learning Centre plastic animals and a pepperami wrapper. He's also got a penchant for butter and sometimes pinches a tub of spread off the side and eats the lot. He's never managed to pinch the sunday joint so far though, I'm pleased to say!

Love this thread :lol: .

My dog's eating habits are very tame but shortly after we'd brought him home from the rescue centre, he pinched my freshly prepared ham and salad roll from the kitchen worktop when I nipped upstairs - it just made me laugh because when I came down I thought I'd forgotten where I'd put the roll ..... until I found a neat little pile of lettuce on the carpet :roll: .
