Jules.
Lovely news Sparkleeee I remember that you are a "pram expert"- are you also a double buggy expert? Remember those old fashioned prams where each baby was opposite the other, with a two-ended pram hood?

Ziggy
Oh congratulations, what lovely news... I'm sure it will be hard work at times, but still so wonderful and amazing... Take very good care of yourself... on top of the kids you already have, you're now a double mum to be too... I wanted twins with my last one, cause I knew OH would never agree to yet another one (he never agreed to DD4, she just happened ) Twice the work, and twice the fun

Remember those old fashioned prams where each baby was opposite the other, with a two-ended pram hood? I think Sparkleeee may need to be researching triple buggies now! I know my 3 year old still finds longer walks a bit tiring for his little legs

Cooks
I think Sparkleeee may need to be researching triple buggies now! I know my 3 year old still finds longer walks a bit tiring for his little legs or a pran with a buggy board/step option would be a good idea. My two boys are 22 months apart but try as I might to get 'toddler' to sit in pushchair whilst pushing 'baby' was a nighmare.. I bought a 'special' tandam pushcair that allows newborns at the back and a toddler at the front to wave at everyone like roalty.. that worked.. for a while. then when youngest was a toddler he refused to be pushed anywhere, we walked at a snails pace, but he insisted on it... I would love to see what pram combo's there are for newborns twins with additional seating/step system for toddlers. There are some great systems out there. hils78
oooh I'm so jealous! Congratulations. x I was really hoping that when I was preg I was going to have twins. My ex has twin girls (now 23) who I still see every other day & absolutely adore. They are my daughters half sisters. They are like chalk & cheese. I'm sure you know this already but if your twins are identical then they have come from 1 egg. If they are non-identical you 'usually' can blame your maternal side for you inheriting the ability to release 2 seperate eggs at once. My old boss is one of a triplet 2girls & a boy. She was an identical twin (obviously with her sister). And there was a boy. So 2 eggs & 3 babies . There is a lady who comes to school with twins boys (surprise pregnancy number 4) making her the proud mum of 5 boys...gulp! Anyway she has a double pushchair (front & back type) with a little side car attatchment for DS#3. Its fab!
Popcorn
Awww...what lovely news. You'll have such great times ahead as a family of 6, and it will be a breeze 3rd time round for you. The twins will amuse themselves while you are busy with the older two. Many congratulations to you all.

Fizzle Knit
Congratulations! I'm new to this site and will post to introduce myself later, but wanted to say congratulations to you. I have twins who are 8 now, plus a 10 year old, and remember the feeling of shock and excitement after finding out they were twins at the first scan. Also wanted to point you in the direction of www.twinsclub.co.uk if you haven't already found it. They have a very busy and supportive forum (the twins equivalent of Omlet!) and I wish it had been around when I first had mine. (Hope it's OK to post links to other sites on here) Best wishes! Willow
Congratulations ! How busy you are going to be will depend some on whther they are identical or fraternal. If they are identical it won't be too difficult to get them into similar routines for sleeping/feeding so will be easier. If they are not they will obviously be as different as any 2 babies of yours. Aunty e
WANT! WANT! I am so jealous! Although I bet you're a bit scared too. Congratulations though, I'm sure it will be wonderful (if exhausting). And how clever of you to be thinking about freezing food for the spring. So much more organised than I will be. (having said that, I'm not planning on trying for a baby until next year, but I have already bought curtains, a blanket box a crib and a playpen. Actually, I think that's just because I like buying bargains) ANYWAY, back to you, can you get twin pushchairs that take a buggy board? I had a McLaren double buggy with a buggyu board on the back - far easier than no. 1 son perching on the hood! there were times when I wished I had a triple buggy, because I could have put them all in it and walke while they all slept (at my pace, not toddler pace)

sparkleeeeee
That is wonderful news I'm sure you will be really organised and manage fine but remember I don't live too far away, so if there is anything I can do just shout thank you Rona, you are such a love, are you offering to babysit all four??? we have been to the Norfolk show today and spent alot of time looking at cars. we bought a c-max in november last year and i love it but we cant get the additional baby in so we need a 6 seater. honda do a version that is like the c-max but wider so it has three seats in the front. i am already decided on the buggy, i have had loads of doubles as my two were close together. the mountain buggy urban double is what i will be buying. it can have a twin carrcot or two single carrycots. i have the single version at the moment with a buggy board and i had the double version last year. my youngest doesnt use the buggy that much now unless i strap her in beacuse its not safe for two monsters running around. they are non identical twins from different eggs which is the safest form of twins. i have been ordering books so i can get my head around what i need to do during the pregnancy. its looking like a c-section as well (i wanted another homebirth - before i found out there were two) . thank you Fizzle Knit i will look at the website, there are so many questions i have that i cant find answers to.
