Recommended Posts

Well when the children get home from school this afternoon we are strapping the caravan to the car and heading off to France for 2 weeks :D:D:D

I'm so looking forward to it, but now starting to panic that we seem to be nearly ready :? I'm sure we have forgotten something important like clothes

"See you all" when we get back :D

warning triangle and those thingy majigs to alter to beam of your headlights?

Reflective jackets in France (16 July)

A law concerning the compulsory carrying of a reflective jacket (EN471) and a warning triangle (ECE R27) in France came into force on 1st July 2008. However, this regulation will not be enforceable with on-the-spot fines until 1st October 2008, when the fine will be between €90 and €135. We have received no confirmation that this will apply to foreign motorists visiting France.

However, we've recently heard reports via our port shops of some British motorists experiencing difficulties and being fined for not carrying reflective jackets. We therefore strongly recommend that motorists visiting France carry at least one reflective jacket inside the car.

Thanks Poet - we didn't know this either!

We used to go to France 4 or 5 times a year until we moved to the farm - I never thought to look and see if anything had changed!

Honfleur is like a second home to us! - I'll give the cider a miss until later in the day.....but I could eat two crepes for you instead?!

We opened our French bank account at Credit Agricole in Honfleur. We completed the forms and then - due to a misunderstanding - we thought we had to take them to CA in Caen.......so we did........

It turned out to be the CA Head Office....and we turned up in holiday shorts and T shirts and plonked ourselves in reception  Everyone was very polite, if a little bemused, and they opened our account for us there and then. It only dawned on us later on that the lady in Honfleur was probably saying that we needed to post the forms to Caen....or she would send them to Caen  . The queue was building up behind us and we didn't really listen :lol:
