Some TV adverts ..

Recommended Posts

I hate that cow and gate one, the one with the laughing babies with annoying pop up things saying "do I look like my tummys unhappy" etc

Oh! I hate that one as well!!!

It made me think all the babies were mentally deranged!

I also hate the new huggies one ' there on the mat, no mess' then pee everywhere!!! :vom: Until he closed the nappy again.

It's just wrong

One of my most hated ads of all time was the L'Oreal one with Jane Fonda. She was advertising some overpriced anti-wrinkle cream :( At one point she says "I'm 68 and I've never looked so good"!! This is a woman who has had some of her ribs removed to give her a smaller waist  and has had, to my knowledge, at least two face lifts

They must think we are stupid

"Because I'm worth it" Yeah right

I absoulutly detest any adverts showing waste or destruction ie paint being spilled, cars deliderately crashed I dont know why it irritates me so much it just does :?:

The one that makes me want to scream at the moment is the carling advert with the wagon full of carling with that excruciatingly irritating song blue when it cold over and over again aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh

On the other hand what about the ones we have loved ?

Number 1 for me is:

Hamlet with Gregor Fisher and his combover in the photo booth even now this still cracks me up

Adverts are the bane of my life... :(

I detest the toilet roll baby 'soft soft soft!' who is about 2 and already manager of his own company

And that Huggies one where the baby pees all over the ceiling is gross!

Confused.com and other comparison sites who can all 'give you the best deal' :wall:

The Strongbow ad...The one where the men in the pub get 'ultimate first pint refreshment' as they exhale for a extensively long time after they sip their beer. You'd think someone would take the oppurtunity to nab their wallets or something of the sort, but no...

ANYTHING that advertises beauty products/anti aging creams/mascara a la 'extended in post production'

And on this topic...Carol Vorderman has lost her job. Now maybe is the time to take out one of those awful loans she has been advertising for years, where you 'consolidate all your payments' and also comes with the helpful 400% interest!

Yes...what a great first post

I hate the Nissan ad cos the music is like nails down a blackboard.Ad breaks anyway are fatal to me cos i'll channel surf when they start then get distracted by another programme and miss the one i intended to watch. :?

Thank god (or should that be Rupert Murdoch!) for Sky+ where i can record and fast forward through them!

I rarely watch any adverts now. If it ain't on BBC, I tape it to watch later and speed through the ads. I'm a nightmare for the poor consumer researchers that collar me in the street, because I've never usually heard of the product they want to ask me about.

I'm with Tessa on the L'Oreal ads. It makes me sick that they still won't commit to cruelty-free cosmetics. How many bunnies have to have their eyes squirted with shampoo before they get the message!:evil::evil:

Ads always seemed more fun when I was a child. Maybe that just indicates the level they are aimed at?

I absolutely LOVE the Lloyds TSB ads, with the little cartoon people on the trains. My daughter and I sing to the music in our high piched voices, drives everyone nuts!

Can't stand most of the others, I have to agree with yiu, scrambled, those cleaner close ones make me want to throw up.

OK, my pet hate at the moment is the Kwik-Fit one, where he tells her how marvellously cheap the bill will be (yeah, right) and then 'hypnotises' her son who has been banging manically on the water-cooler machine throughout their conversation.

Why doesn't she just control her child instead of letting him behave so rudely! It just makes it seem like it's ok for her to allow the child to behave like that, and that it would take a miracle to stop him.

*deep breath*. Calm down dear, it's only a commercial!

I really hate macsara ads where the model has so obviously got false or enhanced lashes

Yes!!!! because if you see the same advert in print and read the small print it says something like 'model photographed wearing eyelash extensions' while the advert is for mascara that is supposed to give you long, lucsious lashes!!! AAARRGGGHH might as well be an advert for false lashes!!!

I can't remember the one that I thought of as I was reading!

I get really annoyed at the car advert - cant remember the car

ok, it this one.

there is a garden party with loads of people wearing powdered wigs and long dresses, then this rather large 4X4 wagon starts running around (like a boy racer type thing)

then it turns out that this is a little girl playing with her dollys and the brother is running the dollys over with his toy car.

fair enough - good advert to this point.

so girls screams "muuum"

mum yells "Bob"

Bob then tells off "jimmy"

WHAT!!!!

WHY CANT MUM TELL JIMMY OFF!!!!!!

ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

sorry

it annoys me :lol::lol::lol:

(still dont know what car it is though)

...and what about the 'I promise...' one, about the guy 'not minding' that the mother of his child's neck smells like perfume and baby sick... well, if he gets to burp the little one his neck would also 'pong' of baby puke! It's no rocket science! (the patronising old so and so!, and then he'll feed the baby, yes formula! instead of being extra nice and super grateful to the mum who is breastfeeding the wee one through day at night (because it's best for all of them, it's natural and it makes sense, that's way!) (down from my soap box).

My boys get really upset by the insurance adverts where cars get bashed. 'What a waste! Such a nice car!' they say. (I agree with them).

I also love the Lloyds one - nice happy music, lovely little characters, it has a dream-like quality to it. I like it too when animals behave like animals - weird when they get 'humanised'.

Am I allowed another go on this thread please?? I had a good Grumpy Old Woman rant in the car yesterday when an ad came on for a vauxhall van. The voice over chap is a Ray Winstone sound a like. He went on about how the van is bigger which means less trips. There I am shouting at the radio, "Fewer trips - it's **** plural! :x "

On the other hand there is an autotrader advert with the old Flumps music that I quite like :?
