Cinnamon
I have just been to the recycling centre at my local large Tesco, & saw a car with the mum inside waiting in the drivers seat while her 2 teenage sons dumped a load of old broken computer equipment & other rubbish on the floor I confronted them, as did another lady, & gave them a mouthful about how it was not a tip but a recycling area - they ignored us & carried on, even throwing a moniter so hard it smashed the screen. So we both took their number plate details, & I phoned Tesco, who have just called me back thanking me & telling me that they hope to prosecute these vile people for fly tipping Tesco said they have had a lot of trouble with some people leaving a mess, & that encourages other people to add to it with their rubbish too. How can they live with themselves?

chickenanne
Absolutely - if people don't act when things like this happen then nothing ever changes. Good for you!
Egluntyne
Well done Sarah. What a waste of a computer apart from the fly tipping issue. There are plenty of charities and organisations who could make good use of a second hand computer.

Guest
Well done Sarah. What a waste of a computer apart from the fly tipping issue. There are plenty of charities and organisations who could make good use of a second hand computer. absolutely! There's a guy on our local freecycle who takes old (even broken) computers, wipes the hard drive, fixes them and then freecycles them on again, in working order! we gave him a cple of old computers recently and they've already got new homes. I hope Tesco do something and good for you (and the other lady) for saying something, i hope they get prosecuted.
hils78
Well done you should be more people like you around to stop this type of 'throw away' idiot getting away with ruining our environment.
mrsallen08
Well done you. I don't understand why they didnt just take the computer to the tip??? ur 'tip' is actually a recycling centre and the workers there are always taking stuff that they can rehome or recycle. Its really good! We even had a rabbit hutch from there! Just needed refelting and it was fine! I hope they do prosecute rather than just slap on wrist! WitchHazel
Well done for confronting these people (I would have been too much of a coward I think). I hope Tesco does prosecute the scumbags. Flytipping is such a horrible thing to do.
Lesley
Well done for taking some action Sarah - I hope Tesco have enough info. to be able to prosecute them.
chelsea
quick thinking getting the number plate! You should be a special constable sarah!
The Dogmother
Well done Sarah, that would have made me angry too. Our local tip/recycling centre has a special container for computers and office equipment, which gets recycled. They also sell on any other useful items. redfrock
Well done Sarah I'm of the same opinion as Mrsallen though - how much harder would it have been to take it to the tip rather than the supermarket - oh of course it might have meant a little more journey. I have to get my Estates cleared every other week at least due to fly tipping. It makes me . I also drive through Woodland every morning to get to work and the amount of times I see fly tipping is awful. Our country(side) is becoming an eyesore, and some people defy belief. Well done again
ubereglu
It really is stupid, they don't think about the consequences of their actions at all do they? They also probably wonder why council tax is too much, when it's people like them who push the price up as councils have to clear up after them.
