Yorkshire Pudding
Hear Hear to everything posted! I used to use a different forum but was sick and tired of all the trolls and b*tching that went on. Finding this one is a breath of fresh air. Bad for my bank balance though! Seagazer
I used to be on another forum but it changed and it went downhill. I love this forum, everyones friendly and looks out for each other, you learn things about all manner of things e.g. mooncups - yuk. I'm always talking about what my fellow omleteers are up to or what nugget of info I've picked up. Its brilliant Apart from not getting the housework done obviously
jlo
This is the first and only forum that I have ever been on. I didn't realise that there were so many grim ones around. Think I will just stick with you guys - you're a pretty friendly bunch
susanbb
As ivalways say to my dear hubs..."It's my forum.....not yours"
Janty
Our year 5s are watching the BFG (DVD sent by little cluckers - thanks again) on Monday. They have been told that it is courtesy of OMLET!
Minnie the Moocher
As I mentioned, I went back to the other forum yesterday and was shocked by how spiteful it was. One poor poster was being ripped to shreds by the others - it was a feeding frenzy, and smacked of bullying. And if you are a bit hasty with the typing they pick you up on the spelling/syntax! I couldn't wait to leave and get back to lovely old Omlet...
Willow
And if you are a bit hasty with the typing they pick you up on the spelling/syntax! |We used to have a village forum and one guy that loved to contribute was dyslexic and he used to get all sorts of flak even though he had explained he was dyslexic Once they'd finished on his spelling and grammar they'd start saying dyslexia didn't exist - just an excuse for people who couldn't spell etc. In the end it got so nasty generally someone threatened to sue the webmaster about comemnts that had eben posted about her and it was closed down. jackiepoppies
Patricia, Couldn't he join us here for a chat? You know he'd be welcome and Chickens aren't obligatory to join in.....though you never know..he might get the bug It just seems so sad he's missing out on friendship. jackiepoppies
I DO NOT LIKE SPORTS PROGRAMMES That is to say, I think they should have a channel [not everyone has Sky!] dedicated to sport which would not disrupt other programmes. I know this sounds really sad, but I hate it when everything else is put on hold. There MUST be other people out there who are not obsessed by sport........aren't there Jackiex
Seagazer
I don't like sport either Jackie - although I will admit to watching the olympics - you are not alone. Saying that I spent four hours watching my YS doing archery yesterday but they're a lovely bunch of people so thats ok.
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm with you, Jackie, I hate sport on TV and get really cross when they cancel/rearrange programmes just for some football match or other .
MedusA
Having posted on numerous forums previously (and even moderating on one), I can honestly say that this is the most friendliest I have ever used. My family call it The Chicken Forum (I know there are others that purport to be about chickens, but this is definitely the best and the only one to which I post). It has been most helpful whenever I have had any chook concerns or issues I need info about. But it is also full of light-hearted banter about unrelated topics, so why would I need to go elsewhere? Edited for typo
Ms Marple
This is the only forum I have ever tried. I simply would not go anywhere else. It is great to read so much positive comment and helpful suggestions from people who don't even know each other - well they could walk by each other in the street and not realise! I feel lucky to have met a few people like Jules, Egluntine, Cathybc, Carenb, Bellekatz. I love the idea of continuity and destiny. I never thought that when I went to buy my Eglu that I would still be intouch with its previous owner - Jules!! I still find myself surprised by the need to come on here and read how folks are getting on even if I don't always chose to comment. Long may it reign
The Dogmother
I've gained so many new friends on this forum, some of them I see often, others not so often, but that doesn't make them any less of a friend. I always recommend the forum on my chook courses as an excellent repository of information.
dancing cloud
I love this forum too! It's the only one I read and contribute to and I like the fact I can ask as many questions as I need to (about absolutely anything!) and not only will someone always have an answer, it's always written in a friendly non-judgemental way. I found the forum before I got my hens and can honestly say it encouraged me to join the "hen-club" and go for the ex-batts. Most non-hen people are only interested in the eggs and do not want to know who's doing what, or who's getting feathers etc. Here I can tell you all and know you will all understand. Nearly 4 months on from hen-arrival-day and I still read the forum as often as I can - thanks to you all
buffie
It's nice to have such positive comments I can't believe my first ever post was nearly 3 and a half years ago I had no idea a forum would bring such good friends Buffie x
