Scottie Posted November 20, 2008 Share Posted November 20, 2008 Just got home to find that Teasel, our lovely Marans who we inherited a couple of weeks ago had got herself caught in the Omlet netting and has died. I think she must have panicked and either completely exhausted herself or broken her neck. She'd managed to get both wings through the holes. There are no other signs on her to suggest anything else might have been involved. I feel really upset - she wasn't terribly cold and if I'd come straight home from school instead of going somewhere else she might still be alive. She'd only been with us such a short time after our friends had a stoat problem and she was really friendly and lovely. beach chick Posted November 21, 2008 Share Posted November 21, 2008 very sad and hard on you, but I have to say I dont think it is a case of the omlet netting harming chickens. that type of netting is widely available, and recommended for chickens to keep them in a safer area.
