The Omleteers Christmas Tree Photographs Thread

Recommended Posts

I bought a pair of standard bay trees in the summer, they were a bargain!

Anyhow,we have just had the front garden paved with beautiful sandstone,so I am moving them out to each side of the front door this weekend,& adding tiny white solar lights to them. I think they will look great 8)

We're getting our fake tree down from the loft this weekend - I can't wait!

We have a tradition since the children were born to take them into town and for them to each choose 1 new decoration for the tree. We put a little sticky label on the hanging tag with their initial and age. We now have a great collection. Although the tree looks rather odd with lots of different dec's, it makes me smile to look at them and brings back memories of previous Christmas's. It is lovely to see the children's faces when they open 'their' box of decorations and choose where to place them on the tree.

Funnily, I thought that they would probably not want to do it any more but my dd did question the other day 'when we were going to go out to choose a decoration?' :)

Actually, I'm secretly hoping that when they are all grown up - they will still come round with a decoration for the tree of their own accord.:lol:

That's a lovely idea - might just borrow that one for my boys! 8)

They all look lovely. YSD wanted the pink fluffy one  we saw in our local garden centre, till her Dad called her a chav, then she gave him that 'What would you know Dad' look, very funny.

We have a real one in a pot this year as I have a real one every year but am trying to be green and not have a chopped down one!

(Cant do the photo thing, as usual!)

Some lovely looking trees, we put ours up today but (like every year) I haven't got enough plugs for all the various sets of lights so am off to buy some mutli plugs tomorrow. So here's our seasonal offering so far.....

I blame the children!!

Mrs B

 That dog is so funny! I'm surprised you haven't found her a set of those reindeer antlers. I've no doubt she would wear them, and she would really look the part!

I like that idea Amanda R. We used to do similar.

Not putting the tree up for a week or so yet, but have done fairy lights and things in bits of the house. Will post pics altogether.

Year before last, I liked my tree so much I left it up til May. I was thinking of leaving it longer to have Christmas in July but bottled it. It looks so bare and uncheerful once it comes down and it saw me through the winter having a bit of colour in the corner. I always have coloured lights. They're deeply unstylish but what I had when I was small - nostalgia kick!
