Yup, took my daughters sausage rolls out of the oven and bang the trip switch went! This wouldn't have been so bad but I was about to put the yule log in the oven! (fortunately one of my neighbours just happened to have their oven on at the right temperature). It looks like the heating element in the oven has gone. Mr Webmuppet is out and about now trying to source a new oven. Slightly tricky as ours is a build under cooker (not to be confused with build in).

 

And Mother is coming to Christmas dinner......................................

Oh no - these things always happen at the wrong time. Our dishwasher has been broken for the last couple of weeks but I finally had enough of washing up and got it fixed last week.

My tumble dryer has just packed in but amazingly our local repair place is able to send someone out to look at it at 9am tomorrow. If it's worth fixing I doubt they'll have the part though. Have now got wet washing on radiators which I absolutley hate!

Hurrah, a few phone calls and I have found a man who should be able to fix it at 0830 in the morning! Keep your pinkies crossed!

Ooh that's dreadful, hope it is all sorted in the morning otherwise you might have to end up with BBQ'd turkey instead - you can pretend it's Christmas with an Australian theme. My mum has been doing my washing for me since my machine died. Will pop into John Lewis after Christmas.

Hopefully it'll be fixed......otherwise we will have to take everything to Mothers flat and cook it on her stove. So far this year the washing machine went on the blink and had to be repaired, then 3 weeks ago the dishwasher packed up and now the oven!

The fan element burnt out when we got back this evening from a few days away and tried to cook toad in the hole. Now a frantic search tomorrow for a new one.

 

My old one went on Christmas day about 5 years ago, we had to cram the turkey into the top oven.

Also YD's TV has packed up this evening and the rope on the woodburner door is nearly falling off, hopefully that is my 3 things

Oh no Chickencam..................why is that domestic kit that behaves normally all year round suddenly goes and gives up at Christmas............

Oh poor you! Hopefully fixed now though....

Our hob went one Christmas eve (actually, we had LPG and the gas pipes to it were leaking....) so did Christmas lunch for 11 people using the oven and a camping gas ring.

Hurrah, the nice man has been and fixed it He did start on about why do people leave it to the last minute to get things fixed - I pointed out it did really pack up yesterday!

Yes , I won't have to do battle with Mothers cooker afterall. Little Miss Webmuppet is much relieved as she just wants to stay at home for Christmas - she's got the lurghy that's been going around and has spent the last few days crashed on the sofa watching awful kid's tv............. I hope she's up to opening pressies..................
