MedusA
My SIL sent me a parcel with "Saw this and thought of you" on it. It was a mini bottle of Mateus Rose wine. What is she trying to say? OH and DD were exceptionally generous and thoughtful this year. My poor elder brother had a shocking Christmas. His FIL (who was staying with him for the holidays) had a cardiac arrest and died just before midnight on Christmas Eve!

Ain't Nobody Here
What an awful shock that must've been . Very sad . Was that Shewee (I was misprouncing it "shweeee" so didn't fully get it at first ) the thing that was on Dragon's Den and they completely dismissed it? MedusA
I know. They've had to put their Christmas on hold until they've sorted out the practical arrangements. I have to admit I felt quite guilty on Christmas day, for enjoying myself.
Tessa the Duchess
Was that Shewee (I was misprouncing it "shweeee" so didn't fully get it at first ) the thing that was on Dragon's Den and they completely dismissed it? I had never heard of these and Googled it but typed "Shawee" by mistake It came up as an ethnic dish made of acorns, so I got really confused Understand what it is now, what a seriously weird gift to give someone Tessa

Plum
Been thinking about it. You wouldn't have to get out of your seat on a long haul flight. You might have to explain how you smuggled that bottle of liquid on board. Wonder if Christian has seen any in use.

iar fach goch
I received a Selk bag from my other half, no, not a fashionable bag but what can only be described as a sleeping bag to wear. I had never heard of them, and this was my lovely(?) surprise gift, so that I could lounge around the house. So funny when everyone was showing off their christmas gifts and I turned up looking like La La! If I could I'd post a photo so that you could all have a laugh at my expense! Cate in NZ
This thread has had me in stitches... you've all had some great gifts from the sounds of it We've been on a bit of an economy drive this Christmas (buying a house didn't leave much cash in the pot for gift buying) but I still reckon that I came out of it very well, even if my gifts were on a budget. I recieved a lemon tree and an avocado tree from hubby and son, both of which are now planted in the garden, and some towels from daughter (she works in a homewares store, so everyone got something from there ). MedusA, so sorry to hear about your brother's FIL. So sad, and somehow even worse that it happened on Christmas Eve. My condolences to your family. Egluntyne
It is too funny for words. I'm still amazed that folk were delighted to receive them. May be they were just good actresses. . Only 42 on ebay now, so there is obviously a market for them. Please don't let this become the next Omlet "must have"
Lesley
Well, I'm sorry, but I am going to get one! - I'm determined to get back to hill/mountain walking.....nothing worse than having to bare all behind a scrubby little plant just to have a wee! I'd rather have a Shewee .....and think of all those times on the motorway - when you don't need a wee until you've just gone past the last service station for 50 miles! Egluntyne
Well if you wear trousers, you will still have to reveal all to use the gadget. You need a crinoline so that you can just bob down. Passers by will think you are curtseying.
