I popped in there one year on Boxing Day (can't think why, unless it was medication for an annual Christmas bug !!) & the shelves were being loaded with Easter Eggs, so they are running late this year.....

How will things EVER be special if you can get them all year round? You shouldn't be able to buy hot cross buns except at Easter as far as I'm concerned. I don't want to buy a swimming costume for my summer holiday yet, nor am I interested in "back to school" for summer uniform yet.

Completely agree....just greed. I suppose its what this world is coming too eh..

 

I feel for the people who havent really had a chance to celebrate Christmas at all for some reason or another (due to bereavement, posted overseas, real poverty etc), when I think about it it makes me really sad.

I let out an audible groan as I went past the display this morning and a lady at the side of me rolled her eyes at me and said, "isn't it just ridiculous?" Mind you, there were Christmas dispalys in Selfridges in August so I suppose we shouldn't be surprised!

Whilst waiting for a Chinese takeaway at the beginning of December my OH went into the Spar shop next door for some beer and they had Creme Eggs for sale The world has gone mad.

A Spar shop I went into yesterday had a creme egg display!

The manager at the Cancer Research shop i vounteer in used to work for a storage company and she said that easter eggs used to arrive in August and then be put in storage until they were put on the shelves after Christmas. She said they came really early because August time was a quite time of year so it made sense to be extra organised.

Wish I'd seen them a few weeks ago. Everyone would have got one for christmas instead of an 'IOU an egg' note with their egg cups.

But Easter is on April 12th! They'll all be stale.

 

AND - I saw someone with a packet of Hot Cross Buns in her trolley just before Christmas I'm with you Mrs Bertie, Hot Cross Buns are only for Good Friday as far as I am concerned. I make my own now.
