Tessa the Duchess
Wow what a difference a bit of tlc can do, well done Rhapsody. Has she integrated with your other chickens yet, if I recall they were giving her a hard time. I am so glad you posted this update as I often wonder how she is getting on, that early pic you posted of a featherless Edgie sunbathing really got to me. She is bottom of the pecking order but no longer hounded, I'm glad to say. Thanks for all your comments I don't deserve any credit, she did her makeover all by herself! And for Tessa (get the tissues) I suppose you mean this pic..
catherinej
Its heartbreaking to see the state of the hens from battery farms but how rewarding to see them blossom! I would really like to adopt some myself but minimum amount from BHWT is 3 and I don't think ive got enough room in my eglu.
Ain't Nobody Here
I would really like to adopt some myself but minimum amount from BHWT is 3 and I don't think ive got enough room in my eglu. You can fit 3 in an eglu quite nicely (I do) . Is it the size of your run you're worried about?

catherinej
I already have a Mrs Pepperpot who is quite big and I have just been given another chicken by my next door neighbour. We thought was a Braham but she is really small which dosn't fit the description! Will take photo tomorrow and post it. Mrs Pepperpot (Penny) is indoors at the moment recovering from fox attack and so I havn't even introduced her to the new addition yet. Don't know what to do really as when Henny was killed, I really wanted to get 3 ex batts. I have also heard that larger hens pick on smaller ones so worried about that too. Penny is now ready to go back into the eglu and not sure how she will take to her new lodger! Hens are far more complicated than first anticipated. Larkspurs
A brilliant transformation. And don't be modest, she may have grown the feathers back herself but you made it possible.
