Cinnamon
Is it just me, or is he a bit of a dish? I keep seeing him on TV, & I do declare he is getting more attractive. In fact, 'yes I would'
Olly
Can see what you mean, although I'm not sure he's my type. However recently I have realised just why John F Kennedy was so popular, and why my mother (who took little interest in politics) was so saddened by his death that she would refer it it years later. I am too young (just) to remember but he must have been elected on a similar wave of optimism and enthusiasm. And he was a bit of a dish too, in his day! earthmam1
Yes I think he is a bit of a dish , its his whole manner and he does ooze power (lets face it after george bush ) I wish him well sue

Egluntyne
Very attractive...and what a compelling orator. His voice has a knee weakening effect.
The Dogmother
I think that he'll go down in history as one of the great orators... Like Enoch Powell and Harold Wilson among many - you didn't need to agree with their ethics to admire their talents.
HENthusiastic
I'm obviously missing something

Glad you added that last one as the great orator that springs to mind for me was Hitler. Those rallies were quite something!
Guest
Actually he's not my type either, I think he looks perfect for being a politician, slightly smarmy and properly made over by the PR brigade. I'm also not convinced by this wave of feel-good towards him - he seems to be being hailed as the "new messiah" and as of yet all he has done is win an election against a few odds. Not that many as he isn't some poor little black guy but a mega rich one. I hope that he does acheive some of what he has set out to do, I doubt he will achieve all of it. I'm sure he'll do a better job than the last person who bought the presidency. I think he is making a difference to some people already - hope is a powerful thing and he has given that to many people.
The Dogmother
He was too.. used the chanting thing to stir people; it mimiced the heartbeat... clever psychology. Not sure if he knew how it worked or not. Tony Blair is a hopeless speaker Just about sums him up really

Seagazer
I think he has definitely got 'something' about him and I can see where comparisons with JFK come in. I saw an advert for a programme for JFK and it made me stop and watch and with Barack its the same thing. I just hope he's not all about hype and he actually does a good job. I'm watching the Inaugeration at the moment.
