Excellent news about the door. I guess there are really good reasons to have to wait for my cube to be shipped here. It just keeps getting better!

 

Think the new door will be standard or have to be ordered seperately? I don't really care either way, just curious and glad it's happening. I ordered the extra arch to convert the door. Since mine won't ship til late Spring think I should cancel it now or just wait till it's closer to actually happening? I don't want to keep bothering Claire.

If it were me i would send an email to Omlet checking you will have the new door and assuming the answer is yes then cancel the extras.

Oh dear I can see me having to ring Omlet! I have a recon ordered, so assume it will be the 'old' door (will need to check with them), I will then have to decide if it is worth paying for the new end panel, or if it will be cheaper to change my order to a new one after all this waiting for a recon!

I emailed Omlet to ask about the price of the door, and explained that I wanted to fit it to the side of a cube extension.

 

 

 

Er if the end panel is curved how will you fit it to the side, or are you going to cut a hole in the panel and put just the door on?

 

Unfortunately I would still have trouble with the door so glad I have done the conversion.

If it wouldn't be so typically, I've got my cube and run on the 11th Feb and still have the small door in it . I had to do the conversion of the top. Not too difficult, but still a pain as I have to step over to get in. Grrrrrhhhhh, not fair

Oh Ecky it happened to me, too. I got the cube with the wooden roosting bars on the last day before they sent out plastic ones as standard

My Cube arrived on the 17th with the old door. Ho hum.

That seems like a much better sized door on the run. It was so fiddly trying to squeeze in through the little door. I've done the drop down conversion on mine now.

I do agree ubereglu - it would be so useful to be able to access both sides!

 

I agree also, the cube is very restricted if you have a stubborn broody hiding on the RHS of the door inside the cube.

I don't understand. Stick? I get that there's a loop to hang it, but what stick? (Oooooh I'm showing what a newbie I am! And it'll be continueing for awhile I'm afraid! )

 

It would be really nice to have a door on the side....but guess I shouldn't complain, the larger door seems so much better.

 

Anyone know about how tall and wide it is?

 

And I gather from the posts this will cost extra?

I'd just cut a hole and fit the door.

Sorry I mean the peg things that keep the door shut on the RHS. I was moaning about taking them out to open the door and having no where to put them - however noticed there is a little loop to put them in.

Oh! Now I get it. It would be so much simpler if I just saw one in person. I keep waiting for folks over here to realize Omlet exists and go crazy ordering. Of course, that wouldn't exactly help me see one before I get mine....

Not sure if I'm reading your comments right (a bit knackered!) bit if you're getting a run extension for the cube, you will need the extra run arch to support it.

I think this is people buying an extra run arch, so you have one at 2m and another at 3m, by the door to support the end when doing a door conversion - if no door conversion needed they do not need the 2nd arch.

 

...that's if I am reading it correctly!

That's what I thought, too. The extra arch needed for the door conversion. But if it's coming with the new door, no need for the extra arch.

I took delivery of a new cube on Friday and mine has the old door. As I've ordered another to be delivered this Friday I've phoned and asked Omlet if they will swap the door. I'm waiting to hear. I hope they will or I'll put my back out trying to get through the old design!

yes that's strange if some get it and some dont, but I suppose they have to use up their stock.

Eglu phoned and will deliver new door with new cube this Friday. They said that it was a mistake and all eglus delivered last Friday should have new door.

Looks much better... can you buy the end panel separately.... I smell a rat, bet it's expensive!!!

 

I wish they would do a back door kit too for the bit under the cube... I never got a response when i suggested it to james.
