Redwing
At the Bristol hospital there is a bowel doctor called Dr Yellowpoo (I don't think its spelt like that as its an Indian name but its certainly said like that!) Ref the article, my MIL's name was Hazel and she did once date a guy with the surname Nut.
MedusA
I looked at the link - and I do feel sorry for poor Jenny....... Poor girl indeed! DD changed her name by deed poll 4 years ago, as her surname was also a slang word for part of the female anatomy. I didn't blame her at all, but her Dad didn't speak to her for a while. Fortunately for me, I was able to revert to my maiden name when her Dad and I split up.

Valkyrie
Years ago my first Dentist was called Mr Beetham (he was nice) then replaced by Mr Stabbins, rather unfortunately - he put me off dentists for years. One of my teachers was Miss A Corn until she got married. A friend of ours father came from Germany and wanted to have an English name so it was changed to "Watt". Our friend decided enough was enough when too many phone calls resulted in "What's your name sir?" "Watt" "What?" "Watt" "What?" So he changed it yet again to something much easier. bluekarin
My ED (who is 11) told me about a friend of hers who knows a girl called Patricia Ness. She was at the docs and was called into the room with him calling "Miss P Ness!" Apparently she will be changing her name as soon as she can. I don't think her parents even registered this name possibility
Plum
These names take me back. When I was a student on nights we'd ring another ward and pretend an admission was coming with these sort of names. (wish I knew you then)
MedusA
These names take me back. When I was a student on nights we'd ring another ward and pretend an admission was coming with these sort of names. (wish I knew you then) That reminds me of my days on the wards too. Nursing was fun back then. At Christmas we would keep a side room available to have as our ward "Santa's Grotto". On the board we would write some fictitious name like "Mr. Noel" supposedly so the bed managers would think it was occupied. I'm sure they knew really, but it was an annual game we played.
