what time are yours going to bed

Recommended Posts

I've always noticed my two Brahmas Opal and Jet are away first, by 5:30pm, and my hybrids Martha, Cindy and Betsy seem to stay up for another hour or so - they're always in bed before it's really dark though! Martha is a bit of a hooligan and still potters around the garden when it's getting dark whereas Cindy and Betsy will be milling around just outside their coop. Betsy is my only non-laying chook and i used to have to put her back in but the past week or two she's followed the bigger girls :)

My GNR is going to bed around 5.30 she is first. Then PP is in and out for about half and hour till i finally shut the door around 6.

Is this ok to let her come in and out like that, or should i just shut the door as soon as she goes in? :anxious:

Can see may have problems with her out clubbing all night???? :P

Mine go to bed about 6pm. If they're free-ranging they drag their feet, but once I put them in the run they tend to trek off to bed. If I try to shut them in before it's completely dark, PP runs out again in a flurry of 'what more does the day hold?', so I've given up on that tactic.

Mine go to bed at about 5:45 but if I am too quick to go outside they all come rushing back out again! So I have to wait until it is really dark before I can shut them in. Funny things!!!

Mine too!

If I go out at about 7pm I can usually shut them in, however I've been known to go out much later and even then at least one comes down to meet me!

My best bet is to turn torch on in advance (so they don't hear me switching it on) and hide it in my pocket (so they don't see me coming) and then try not to fall over anything in the dark....

Then I open the egg hatch and shine the torch in to count heads! That must really p*** them off!
