Dodge
Went to the Ideal Home Show today, and of course made a beeline to the Omlet stand. Today pulling the punters in were Anna's Flock and BeckyBoo. I have to report that both ladies were doing a very professional roaring trade. There was a lot of interest in the stand and they were answering loads of questions and giving demo's of how the cube and eglu worked. It was great to meet them both and put faces to names. If you want to go and travel by train, make sure you go online and print out the 2 for 1 vouchers athttp://www.daysoutguide.co.uk

Guest
oooh it looks like such fun. I@ve had to drop out next Sat due to lack of babysitter. Still excited for Grand designs though. I fancy a day up at the Ideal Home although with my signature I guess I'd best not go.... I planned to spend my "fee" in my lunch break - now trolley dollies better be at grand designs... BeckyBoo
Well, I'm back. My feet are KILLING me! I've got a big mug of tea and I'm hoping to persuade the children that it really IS twenty to nine and not twenty to eight and that they really Should be asleep by now And yes, that's me with the long red hair and the pink Omlet t-shirt. I had a GREAT day, sold some Eglus, met some really nice people, hopefully some of them will pop up here as I recommended it to EVERYONE!! We think we've spotted a gap in the market - two people asked if they could use the Rablu for cats which was fine until Ana pointed out that it would then be a Catlu which sounds like a litter tray Lovely to meet Ana's Flock and George from Omlet and his lovely wife. Hope you all made it home OK guys, if anyon's going next Sunday I'll be there again! BeckyBoo

jlo
Pleased you had a great day Becky and hope you got there ok! It is good fun isn't it? I just wish that I had a £ for every time someone asked me how many eggs I get per day! It didn't get boring though It is much easier to be enthusiastic selling Eglus than ironing boards And I also love the hair!!

Ana's flock
I'm back home too. (The one with the 'discreet' top) - My feet... I'm trying to sell them on e-bay - in fact right now they're free to a good home, ouch! but after a lovely dinner cooked by hubby I feel much better! I had a great day too. We talked about chickens ALL day... to people who actually wanted to hear about them! Met a lot of lovely people and as BeckyBoo said, we might be welcoming a few of them to the forum soon. I'll be there again next Sunday but this time as a 'punter' as we've got some tickets (and I've spotted a lovely chicken shaped blackboard... and seeing that I've been such a good girl today... Yup, I had a thoroughly nice day (without buying anything I didn't need. ...but now I NEED that chicken-shaped board ) I also learned how to properly dismantle the back of the (after all I've only had it since before Christmas... ) Thanks to George, Lesley and Becky for a fantastic day. Ana Well, I'm back. My feet are KILLING me! chickencam
Beckyboo you look nothing like I thought you would, not that I know what that is either. Fab hair You do however look like the feisty strong lady that your posts have suggested. Glad you both had a good day
MedusA
It looks like you both had a great time! (Thanks for the pics, Dodge). I can't think of anything nicer to call "work" than talking about chickens all day. I do that anyway, but "Ooops, word censored!"ody pays me. Guest
you both look radiant! did you get any daft questions?
BeckyBoo
Someone asked if you could keep a parrot in a cube? someone asked if I owned the company (I wish!!) but mostly people just pointed, stared, laughed and said how fab they were!! Ana's flock
Someone asked if she could put her kids in it. I told her 'only if you get a playstation and broadband internet connection' inside... But apart from that, the usual thing about whether they need a cockerel for the hens to lay (like a fish needs a bicycle), if they're noisy (of course not ), if they can fly (not if you get an Orpington, but you could tie a message to a leg of any of my white stars, let them go and you'd get a reply from China in a few weeks!), if they smell (less than dogs/mice/humans), if their houses smell if you don't clean them (would your house smell if you didn't clean it)... that sort of thing. And some useful questions about feeding, wing clipping, mites and parasites, lifespan etc... It was fun sharing experiences with interested people, and I'd like to think we managed to inspire a few peeps with our anecdotes.
Olly
I've just re-read the 'Show Guide' although it's another month before Excel, and I see it says you should wear an Omlet T-shirt. I notice you're wearing a fetching pink one, Becky, but that Ana is in a gorgeous ethnic-looking top. I've read on here that the t-shirts are on the small side ... and I ain't small! Is it essential? Were you hiding one under that lovely jumper, Ana? I think if I squeezed my greatest assets into a too-tight t-shirt, it might put people off the products! Blackrocksrock
I would buy one if the proportions fitted me!!!!!! I would not fit into the skinny ones either.
BeckyBoo
The one I had was a size 16 (as this is what I mostly am!) and it was fine, but it wasn't big. They're also not very long so as I'm used to wearing things that cover my butt I did keep tugging it down, but it feels like quite nice quality (and of course it's BRIGHT pink which I loved!) I don't think Ana got hers in time which is a shame. I'm going to send Johannes an e mail suggesting name badges with Omlet on, if the t-shirts didn't fit then people could quite happily wear them. Of course I did also already say that it was a bit daft making them so small but still... BeckyBoo
