HappyHen
Tonight I really fancied a curry, the first one since the girls arrived last Saturday. But.......instead of ch***en biryani I had to order lamb!! Is it just me or has anyone else gone off a certain meat since their eglu arrived! Guest
We don't eat any less chicken ( sorry), but we do now make sure that it's free-range chicken that we eat. We're even considering raising 'dinner' chickens, so we know exactly how well they've been treated.

chelsea
I must admit...I do look at chicken breasts a bit more when im putting them in the roasting dish. Also was looking at my chickens legs today thinking - we eat them......*shudder* to be honest I dont eat much meat at all - I only eat chicken anyway and very little of that. on the other hand hubby is a real carnivore and would eat anything that moves
chocchick
I make the distinction that our chickens are egg chickens, and the ones we eat are meat chickens and entirely different

Cate in NZ
We'll only eat good quality meat, free-range, known provenance and so on, and a lot less of it than previously. I'm with Shona.... we keep talking about raising chicks for meat. In principle I'd love to do it, I think that if you eat meat you should be able to face the responsibility of rearing it and slaughtering it.... but I baulk at the slaughter idea, I'd be so scared that I couldn't do it at the end of the day, or that I'd do it wrong and the chicken would suffer needlessly

Lesley
I think that if you eat meat you should be able to face the responsibility of rearing it and slaughtering it.... but I baulk at the slaughter idea, I'd be so scared that I couldn't do it at the end of the day, or that I'd do it wrong and the chicken would suffer needlessly That's what we decided as well, so we found someone to show us how to do the deed. After being veggie for 25 years I found it really difficult but we did it. I still only eat meat at home - and always 'home grown' or known provenance. Chicken on a mission
I don't eat any meat, or anything that doesn't come out of one of my diet food packs for that matter Seriously though we go for free range additive free meat and try not to eat a larger protion than required.
