Oh wow, how fast they grow. It was nice flicking to page 1 to remember how they started out. Have fun chook shopping. It's lovely when you need to buy poultry for intruductions ect.. it's a good excuse.

The differences are very marked now.

Wow, what a difference 80 days makes! Perfect timing from my point of view, as despite whey back in April saying (in this very thread) I'd love to raise some Light Sussex chicks but didn't have the time, I'm expecting six LS eggs to hatch later this week . I stuck my head in the broody box last night and convinced myself I could hear tapping or eggs moving, so fingers crossed .

They are beauties - must be really incongruous to hear them cheeping as they look like grown-ups....when will Anton go to the big chicken coop in the sky / aka the dinner table?

 

And when are they next lot of eggs coming?!

The plan is to get another couple of POL girls to keep Claudia company when Anton finds himself surrounded by roast potatoes and a medley of seasonal vegetables.
