Looney
I love the comments people have written at the bottom of the article! I always pick up the rubber bands, we have loads in a drawer in the kitchen. Oh, and loads around the handle of the pram. Oh and some in the car...... stoice
How many have you found? Can't say I've ever come across one! I hadn't noticed them before either until i read the article yesterday. Went on a little walk with the dog after work and found 6 red elastic bands in half a mile! They're everywhere!!
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I do find it strange that it's effectively litter louting yet seems to be sort of acceptable. I LOVE the scooter adornment in the article. And your ball is indeed
Egluntyne
I've never understood why postmen don't put them in their pocket and hand them in at the depot from time to time so that the the blooming thing can be RECYCLED.
Ain't Nobody Here
I always pick them up . I keep a stash on top of my mug tree in the kitchen (I wash them first!)

fluffyknickers
I get loads outside my house - my son picks them up. What is worse though is that our postman smokes and always puts his cig buts outside our door. Its always my house so each day he must light up at the same house and finish at mine. x
Minnie the Moocher
We used to have a postie who threw them onto the flat roof outside my office window. Grrrrr
Phoebe
We get at least 1 a day, usually still on the post, to be fair, and I use them in the garden eg for bending over onion and daffodil stalks. Dropping fag ends is BAD. i would complain to the PO about it.
Chickvic
I found one today! Alas it was broken but it was on my path!
crazygal
I pick them up too! I found about 10 all at once outside school the other week. They are everywhere, and I think its a big to drop them in the first place.
bigmommasally
I feel left out I've never seen a red rubber band (or manila for that matter) dropped anywhere in my road. I want to find some so I can make a ball too ...Stamps feet and pouts... it's not fair
Guest
Got one on my post just yesterday. Suspciously little post this week when our postie is on holiday! Our postie doesn't drop them but he does park his van on our driveway. I guess he leaves them in the van.
Minnie the Moocher
Ours parks his van in the driveway, then delivers to my neighbours on foot. I don't mind unless I want to go out.
Lesley
I give handfuls back to the postie occasionally - he did say that they only last a couple of uses and then perish and break as they are more bio-degradeable than the old ones were. Guest
Ours parks his van in the driveway, then delivers to my neighbours on foot. I don't mind unless I want to go out. Actually that is exactly what ours does - often Chris nextdoor is sitting out the front smoking so he will stay and chat. Fortunately we have a roundabout in our drive so he parks by that and we can always get out the other side. Incidentally - EVERYONE drives the right way round the roundabout and if they are in my car when I go the wrong way there is a sharp intake of breath! It's kinda funny how well programmed people are. mostin
We get alot dropped by us and it makes me really . Not just because of the littering aspect but because one of our cats, Tilley, has a real thing about rubber bands and chews and chokes on any she finds . I spend all my time picking up any I find and hiding them from her. She even brings one she finds in other streets back to the house . I don't do anything with them though, I put them in the bottom of the bin where she won't find them.

Blackrocksrock
The biggest litter louts then must be posties - my cat loves them too and would eat them so have to put them out of harms way but why do they drop them at all - they should be make to pick them up like kids dropping litter - imho anyway

Valkyrie
Wow that is an impressive ball of bands! I also pick up the ones in the drive or outside the front door. They always come in handy. Whenever I have to pop into the sorting office for OH, there are loads all over the road there. I think they breed when we're not looking.
