craftyhunnypie
It's Easter, it's sunny - so why do I feel fed up? I've pottered & planted in the garden, done the chooks, done my hair, done some knitting. Now I am fed up. We were supposed to be going away to Yorkshire, but the organisers changed their plans, so we are at home. OH has said that we will have days out instead - fair enough. So why is he busy washing & polishing the car, then going to take photos ready for selling it as well as faffing around? I could drive out myself somewhere, but why should I go alone? I shouldn't have to! So I've come on here for a bit of a moan, talk to my friends & to calm down! We better do something together or else!!!!!!!! Tessa the Duchess
I am, in fact I'm livid, angry and fed up. I am a moderator on our local Freecycle group. A couple of days ago I posted an Admin post asking members not to offer alcohol or live animals as these are expressly against Freecyle rules. Some bright spark attacked me publicly on the list calling me bossy authoritarian and worse This has sparked a spate of e.mails some agreeing with her, others backing me, which I really don't need right now. Then today somebody posted asking for housing for her chicks, or would anybody like to take them off her hands. This makes me so hopping mad I could actually feel my blood pressure rising and had to go in the garden, in the rain, and talk to my chickens to calm me down. To add to this I am doing a massive baking session this afternoon for my grandaughter's christening tomorrow, her mother asked if I would look after my grandson who is 3 and into everything while she went and got her hair cut I just feel like going back to bed, if things get any worse I might just do that. Aaaaaaaaaaaaarg. Tessa
jlo
A little fed up here too. DD has gone off to one of her friends house, DS is on the XBox and OH is about to go off and referee a local football match. The weather is grey and drizzly and the chooks are already cleaned out. They are having fun digging around in the moist soil for worms so at least someone is happy. On the other hand, I have done my exercise class this morning so am feeling slightly smug. I may go and drag the boy off the XBox and see if I can persuade him to come for a walk. I am sure that that will make him Oooh, just read Tessa's post and realised that things are not so bad in this part of Hampshire!
Cinnamon
Yes, I am fed up too. Roll on 7pm, when I will have a nice glass of wine
Joojoo
I'm fed up too though I really shouldn't be Glorious sunshine here. Everyone in the street is out in their gardens and I really should be out there enjoying the sunshine. BUT I feel absolutely exhausted despite having hours and hours sleep. I went to bed at 12.30am on Thursday night, woke up at 10.30am yesterday morning, fell asleep on sofa at 2.30pm and didn't wake up again til 5.45pm then went to bed properly at midnight and slept til 10am this morning. Why am I so tired? Have had very busy couple of months where I've been working 14 hour days 7 days a week and think it's finally catching up on me. Need to get my backside into gear and get outside and enjoy the sunshine while it's here. The forecast had been for torrential rain so I really should make the most of it. Hope everyone else cheers up soon too xx
Blackrocksrock
Wonderful sunny day - blue sky but windy windy and not really that warm yet but I am fed up too as not slept well for 3 nights - have the lurgy - cold and stuffed up nose but the cough is the worse and I cannot sleep and I am sore coughing!. mostin
I think it's always a problem with organised holidays. I diagnose EHD or Enforced Happiness Disorder. It's a Bank Holiday, so we think to ourselves, it's special, we have to do something special, we must enjoy ourselves, we must be happy. The pressure of this seems to ruin the chances of that happening. When you look back on some of the best days or nights out of your life, I find they are always the spur of the moment ones, that were not planned. Take a chill pill, put your feet up and tell your self that this is just like any other weekend, and then something magical may happen . Plum
It's raining and my feet are cold. I feel fat and sluggish and want to get out in the garden. So I am fed up. Not really depressed just fed up. Hope you all feel better tomorrow.
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm very sorry to hear you're all so miserable . I should probably keep away from this thread but I'm hoping some of my non-fed-up-ness might cheer some of you up . It's a lovely sunny day and my walk in run is complete . Roof on and guttering complete . OH's best friend who had a benign brain tumour removed on Tuesday is doing really well and looks fantastic, considering . I went out with 2 friends I've known for 25 years last night and we had the same kind of laughs we've been having for 25 years . Sorry if that just makes you feel more fed up . I'll go away if it helps *creeps off quietly* .

Egluntyne
I think Mostin is right, we have such expectations of Bank Holiday weekends and feel a bit flat when they are not fulfilled. Good news about your OH's friend ANH.

Been there so many times now, Tessa . It's horrible, isn't it when you're only doing your job as a moderator and it's impossible not to take it personally to some degree . Some people just can't cope with rules which are there for a good reason . Hope it all settles down quickly and can be forgotten.
ali-s
I'm feeling out of sorts today Andy and Natalie have been away since Tuesday and not due back home until tomorrow night, I am missing them both. Andy was away for a couple of days the week before, it seems I haven't spent any time with him for ages. I spent 3 hours asleep on the sofa this morning Not been sleeping well at night as I think I have pulled a muscle in my shoulder or neck. This has meant I haven't done half the things I had planned for my 2 week holiday and it is back to work on Monday Also feeling very homesick for Nottingham and my family there I always get this homesickness at Christmas, Easter or if a family member has a Birthday or special day. Hope there is something good on the TV tonight so I can snuggle up on the sofa with Archie dog and Miley kitten , and I hope Jack is not planning on going out as I don't feel like being a taxi service tonight
girlsmum
You are in luck Alison. The film "Little Miss Sunshine "is on Channel 4 at 9pm. Its a lovely sweet, funny film and guaranteed to raise the spirits. I was feeling fed up yesterday thinking of a 4 day holiday stretching in front of me and no one to share it with. Son away with friends and i'm separarted from my husband. Anyway I sulked for a while and then thought stop it Turned my thinking around and remembered all those holidays i'd spent with relatives wishing i was on my own/doing something else. So i had a bath, read a book etc. much happier now. REMEMBER -The grass seems greener on the other side but it still needs mowing Girlsmum
BarbaraJ
Well i have had an interesting couple of days for my youngests 18th birthday we bought billy elliot tickets and money to spend in london for today. All good until she couldn't find the tickets last night omg an hour searching the house eventually totally stressed after trying to ring ticketmaster and they were shut then going online and finding out if we got replacements i would have to go to theatre as i bought them!!! we found them, thank god! I have 22 people for lunch tomorrow so really didn't need to go to London!!! My fan oven cremated 24 cakes , black as charcoal in 10 mins, don't know whats going on with that so had to make again in other oven which luckily worked. Went to pick up some ordered food from M&S , part of order was missing not happy, then whilst sorting that out i dropped a carton of cream on the floor Came back home to decorate cakes and proceeded to drop half of a packet of silver ball cake decorations everywhere, wow can they travel have managed to make nearly everything now but am worried fridge might explode oh and weather is horrible here!! daughter due back soon so hopefully she had a great time
Plum
22 people for lunch. I wouldn't be feeling fed up I'd be feeling desperate!! Hope your day of incidents doesn't carry on for tomorrow. I feel lots better. The sun came out and the girls and I did some gardening and planted out some stuff. Off for a nice soak then a curry and evening in front of tv. Boring maybe but I enjoy it. craftyhunnypie
Well - we sat in the sun & had some beers & shared a Buttons Easter egg. Felt much better afterwards. We then heard an almighty boom from the electric sub station thingy & the electric went off. So we had to make the custard for the trifle in our caravan & we sat in there for a bit - which made me laugh. Electric now back on & we are back in the house. We're having a curry too tonight & will probably watch a DVD. On the Calvados cider now....hic ! We are going out tomorrow & hubby says it might involve chickens! AJuff
Oh dear . . . lots of fed-ups. I always think the first few days on holiday together can be a bit stressful. I start my holidays with a huge long list of what i hope to achieve . . . .very boring I know. But it structures me to get going with things i never have time to do in term time. It makes me feel so good when things get done. The weather here has been absolutely glorious which has helped a lot!!

Guest
Feeling so much more positive today. Off to church for a good sing song! Drop James off at his Dad's Boot sale for some bargain hunting (if it's on!) Do a bit of pottering in the garden. Or greenhouse if it's raining Gonna put on some rocking tunes and ENJOY myself - Easter Sunday is a time for celbration MAYBE we were all a bit down because it was Easter - this would have been a time of mourning until the miracle that he had risen. My cousin put all of this quite well in her monthly letter http://www.hallammethodistsheffield.org.uk/ OK that was a very deep post for me - a lot of people would be surprised to hear me speak that way but I have been inspired by the faith I have witnessed this morning on Facebook. Several people have changed their statuses and surprised me with their beliefs. One in particular from a girl I used to teach and still know, she has put that she is "going to begin to live for Him again" It's all made me think that maybe deep within us the sadness of the time has been replaced with the joy and happiness knowing that he has risen. And with that I need to be off if I'm not going to be late for church - which I am, I always am, pretty much every time I go (about 3 times a year!).
