dancing cloud
Free-ranging in the garden after only two weeks out of their cages Sun Sky and Moon My gorgeous big girls (formerly my little monsters) have been very grown up and relaxed about the new arrivals, so much so that, despite a lot of initial shouting and bawling, I can let them out to play together . The little girls are not yet allowed to join the big girls gang, but there has been very little pecking, just some rather half-hearted chasing and I am very proud of them indeed! Close supervision is still required at bedtime, when all 9 are in the yard together and a bit tired and tetchy, but all in all the introductions have gone much better than I could have hoped (touching everything that might be wood). Just look at the difference between them though:- Joy and Sky Hard to remember that Joy used to be completely bald or imagine that Sky will soon look all healthy and glossy too. Another piccie of the spring chickens And whilst she's no chicken, Cleo has settled in amazingly well too - as you can see she's very happy in her new home and she's very much my cuddle-cat. Still hard to keep her paws off the keyboard while I type though! Here's hoping the peace and goodwill continues!

SLK69
Hi, It is amazing to watch how they come on - we got our ex batts last March, but they were no where as bald as your current ones. Well done you for taking on another batch of bald ladies, they'll soon be feathered and as cheeky as you like. Thanks for sharing your photos. Janty
Great pictures. Cleo is amazing...she'd get on well with my Sausage.
dancing cloud
Cleo would absolutely adore Sausage - and what girl-cat wouldn't, he's a very handsome lad! The two hen-gangs are ambling round the lawn very peacefully at the moment, but the big girls still won't let the littlies join them. It's only the little girls third full day in the garden and they positively skipped out of their eglu this morning to get to the lawn Sun and Moon (the very bald botties) have both got lots of new quills coming on their backs and necks - Moon looks like a new breed of porcupine chicken ! - and they're eating me out of house and home, so I'm sure they'll improve very quickly I promise I'll keep you all posted on progress
