bamix - anyone got one

Recommended Posts

I have one and it is fab. I have the mini processor thing as well (slicey). It is fab and does turn thin cream into whipped cream. However their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I accidentally threw the blade to the grinder away and despite repeatedly contacting them by email, have no response as to whether a replacement can be bought.

It is sturdy and they apparently last for years. I have mine on the wall as I do use it a lot; quicker than getting the whole processor out

Haven't got one but do check the price elsewhere before buying from Ideal World. Juiceland do them, The Kitchen Shop and Amazon as well. HTH

So is it better than a conventional " good" mixer/blender like KitchenAid etc?

Reason I ask is that we're thinking of replacing our very old battered one quite soon. OH went on a cookery course at Le Manoir ( Raymond Blanc's place- great Christmas /birthday present btw) and is extolling the virtues of a VERY expensive one he saw there.

I keep mine on the kitchen worksurface because it doesn't take up much room so it always ready to hand - no more getting everything else out of the cupboard and putting the bits together. I did buy the slicer /grater attachment thing (Slicey??) which is fab and uses the bamix just to power it. :D

Get thee all behind me!! I must not, must not even think about buying one of these as I cannot possibly justify it. I will just keep reading the two negative reviews on the Lakeland page and not come back to this thread!
