Charlottechicken
Is the Bamix the really expensive hand held chopper/blender thingy for around £160, or the really expensive blender that crushed the ice on Ideal World for around £400.
Laura007
its the really expensive one that gordon ramsey uses. it whips skimmed milk to the consistancy of whipped cream, apparently! i can feel a bit of a gadget moment comung on.

Chookiehen
I got one from Santa last year, and I can honestly say that I have used it several times a day, every day since. It's fab - so much more than one of those cheapie stick blenders. It gets used for everything!
redfrock
I have one and it is fab. I have the mini processor thing as well (slicey). It is fab and does turn thin cream into whipped cream. However their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I accidentally threw the blade to the grinder away and despite repeatedly contacting them by email, have no response as to whether a replacement can be bought. It is sturdy and they apparently last for years. I have mine on the wall as I do use it a lot; quicker than getting the whole processor out
riane
Had mine 5 years and love it, so easy to use and handy to keep in it's stand on the worktop. The grinder attatchment is so useful.

Omletina Kyckling
I have one and love it, use it several times a day, usually to whip up hot milk to make cappuccino, but also for eggs/cream/blending small quantities. They are superb!!

Haven't got one but do check the price elsewhere before buying from Ideal World. Juiceland do them, The Kitchen Shop and Amazon as well. sunshinesupernova
Lakeland are another stockist. I've had one for at least 4 years now - and it's the ONLY kitchen gadget for me worth having. I use it loads and bought extra blades for it and the Slice-Y too. Lifetime warranty too. May be expensive - but worth EVERY penny
quickcluck
Slicey make Excellent coleslaw.... meringue is tricky though... but its great at smoothies I use it everyday for breakie

bellekatz
I have one and wouldnt be without it - so much easier to use than a full size food processor or liquidiser. I remember my Mum had one back in the 70's - wonder where that went???
Patricia W
So is it better than a conventional " good" mixer/blender like KitchenAid etc? Reason I ask is that we're thinking of replacing our very old battered one quite soon. OH went on a cookery course at Le Manoir ( Raymond Blanc's place- great Christmas /birthday present btw) and is extolling the virtues of a VERY expensive one he saw there. bellekatz
I keep mine on the kitchen worksurface because it doesn't take up much room so it always ready to hand - no more getting everything else out of the cupboard and putting the bits together. I did buy the slicer /grater attachment thing (Slicey??) which is fab and uses the bamix just to power it.
jlo
Get thee all behind me!! I must not, must not even think about buying one of these as I cannot possibly justify it. I will just keep reading the two negative reviews on the Lakeland page and not come back to this thread!

Omletina Kyckling
My hubby made me a lovely wooden stand for mine which is fastened to the wall near the sink, so when I whip up my milk, I can just run it under the hot tap to clean it off. It also has two little prongs to keep the extra heads on.
