Cate in NZ
So, it's well over a year now since I had to part with my flock of chooks in England, and since we've slowly got establisjhed in NZ I've been planning and plotting to start a new flock. However we had a few problems with the Bodycorp agreements on our land and had to get various agreements before we could have chickens again. Which meant that keeping sheep (2 ewes now...one of whom is, hopefully, pregnant ) and a goat was easier than getting chooks. Anyway, finally, all the necessary agreements are in place, and today I picked up my first NZ chooks. 5 weeks old, a brown leghorn & a brown leghorn/ light sussex cross, and absolutely beautiful little babies. Photos to follow, tomorrow morning, all being well
