chocchick
A BMW driver pulled out of a junction into my lovely new car. I'm OK, but my poor little car, although drivable, has a bent passenger door and bodywork damaged all down the side I only got it on Saturday, trying to get over my fear of driving, and was practicing a route so I become less anxious and could drive there Friday morning. Still he's accepted fault and there are 2 witnesses who agree.
buffie
Oh so sorry about that, not nice but at least you are ok BBx
Mel (& Paul)
what rotton luck! at least you are ok - make sure that you keep moving other wise you will stiffen up over then next few days but it is rotton that it was your lovely new car. I remember when I got a Vauxhall Tigra, brand new, about 8 years ago someone opened their car door as I was driving past and it pulled my wing mirror off. No problem but I was "my poor new car" Look after yourself Mel x
Mrs Frugal
Oh how rotten, Choccy. Glad you're OK but it won't have done your confidence much good, will it . Being an anxious driver myself, I know what these incidents can do for you.
Egluntyne
Oh....Poor you. Don't let it put you off driving. Why am I not surprised that the other party was driving a BMW!

Cate in NZ
Oh, what bad luck Choccy, but it wasn't your fault. It's bound to have dented your confidence (as well as the car ), but at least you're unhurt, the other driver's admitted responsibility and you've got witnesses. Don't let it put you off driving

The Dogmother
Oh Chox! I only just caught up on this one. So sorry to hear about your lovely new car - you were so looking forward to getting it too. I know it's no consolation, but at least he admitted fault and you'll get it back all repaired and shiny like new. Big hugs OOXX Someone scratched my van the other week - it's not new, but I love it and I was really hacked off (Graham - no jokes about my van please!) Lesley
So sorry to hear about your car CC - but glad that you were uninjured. Please don't let it put you off driving - this happened to my daughter 16 years ago just after she passed her test and had her first car. She stopped driving - and she's having a really hard time trying to get back into driving now.

ubereglu
Oh no, what terrible news. Did the driver even apologise to you?
chocchick
I think he apologised, slightly hazy now. It's a week's work to repair the car, plus waiting for parts and engineer inspection last Friday (I hope). He got the door, bodywork matched bumper and about 2-3 side panels either dented/scratched Feeling a lot better now, (thanks for asking) and I have a silver Yaris hire car which I have driven, mainly on my own I couldn't believe it though, after practicing the route to the stables before the crash a road was blocked off before my lesson and I had to phone OH for directions and turned up late. I also now know I should have phoned the Toyota accident hotline and they would have sorted my insurance and everything with me, in fact the Volkswagen garage had their own system which was confusing as the first thing I did was phone the insurance company and I had 2 sets of people arranging things. V. bewildering. Note to self always take mobile, paper and pen in car I remembered later I had useful Toyota info in the glovebox Yep, it's good to know all this stuff before you drive off. I was quite lucky the Volkswagen site owner was there to help

Mel (& Paul)
and take a disposable camera for taking pictures of any damage should you have another accident (or for taking pictures of chickens that you might come accros in your travels )
chocchick
Would you believe the battery has gone flat on my hire car. The internal light was on which I'm sure I've never used as only driven in the day or OH says could be rain shorting it. At least OH has a charger.
