Lewis
I've just spotted: Course in the Cotswolds We are very pleased to announce that we will run a Kill, Pluck, Gut and Bone Course in the Cotswolds at Cotswold Chickens, Hawthorn Stud, South Newington, Banbury, Oxfordshire. OX15 4JP on Saturday 5 September. There will be 5 start times at 11am , 12 noon, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm and each session lasts about 2 hours. The cost is £57 per person and £77 if a couple shares a place. See the Courses page for details of the course itself, but be sure to email us from the Contact tab at the bottom of the page to express an interest in reserving your place. Please remember to bring a pinny with you and we will also bring the sausage machine where you can make a kilo of sausages from our own Gloucester Old Spot pigs for £10. ...on Alisons website, where quite a few people from here went earlier on in the year in Sheffield and all seemed to have a good time (see here). Theres no mention of it on the Cotswold Chickens website yet but is anyone going? If so which time slot? It would be good if we all booked on the same time like they did before I'd like to go but we may be going to America ... we'll see Edited June 23, 2009 by Guest
mostin
Ooooh is another group of omleteers going to step up and take the plunge. It was certainly better being in a group of like minded people, especially when unexpected things happened .

Chickvic
I'm sort of interested, I couldn't have meat birds where I am now but like Claire said, it would be useful to know just in case I ever had to dispatch.
Lewis
Hopefully I'll be going but we're planning on going to America that week, but with Dad's bad back I'm not sure if we will be. I've done it all before with Turkeys at a farm last Christmas, but its always good to properly learn other ways and be taught rather than just a case of watch me and copy it

moochoo
I can highly recommend it. Alison was a very good teacher, despite the unforseen circumstances
Egluntyne
Same here. It was well worth going......and if there are a gang of you, it helps, as the inevitable gallows humour gets you over the difficult bits.
Snowy
So who else is going on this one? I've been offered a choice of start times but it would be nice to go at the same time as some of you! Otherwise I am going to go for the 1.30 slot (the 3.30 is a bit too late )

Redwing
The Masons Arms looks nice I just thought if anyone wanted a drink I would make the journey, it would be nice to put faces to names
Lesley
The Masons Arms looks nice I just thought if anyone wanted a drink I would make the journey, it would be nice to put faces to names We'd probably come along for a get-together as well Tasha.... moochoo
We'd come along for a meet in the pub!
The Dogmother
I'd be up for it too, after the course that is. Both are very nice pubs, if you're into real ale, then the Falkland Arms in Great Tew is the best and has the bonus of being dog-friendly and having a good dog walk on the doorstep. Not sure what time the courses will finish though
