Raina, make sure you rest and take lots of fluids. Don't try to do too much too soon, you need to rest for at least a week.

 

I've had normal flu three times. It's too easy to go back to a full day when you think you feel better but you need to have at least two or three days of feeling better to make sure you really are. I went back to work too soon once and ended up collapsing and being off for another week.

Yep i have had a really bad cough (i coughed that much that my chest started to hurt)

 

i would ring your GP if your OH has 2 or more of the symptoms

My mum said that there were quite a few security guards, and that they had to give their name over and over,She had to show Photo ID, she also had to take letters in too to show she lives in our house. Oh no one would go anywhere near them.

 

My mum also said that there were at least 10 people in there

I would actually think that my ES might have had this. He's had all the symptoms passed onto him by his girlfriend. He's on antibiotics at the moment for a chest infection as he's got a hacking cough.

 

Lots of my daughter's friends have been diagnosed with this and been on the drug, she's just back from the Midlands.

 

Hopefully as long as you don't have any underlying problems then we should be ok.

Oh no. I know its spreading and I know it's not dangerous BUT I had a dream that I was getting on my flight to NYC with James and reminding him NOT to say that Gran wasn't with us because she had swine flu!!!

 

You see I'm really not worried that Mum would be in any danger if she did I'm more worried that I would miss my holiday!!!

It's big in Brum isn't it? An NHS friend of mine has it up there.

 

On the plus side, the more virilant strain is predicted to hit in the autumn, so your immune system will be boosted by this. Better to have it early.

A girl in my daughter's school has been diagnosed with Swine flu. Nothing has changed at school. Today i was told one of my pupils is off with suspected swine flu!! Watch this space . . .

Thanks Raina that is very interesting. He was acutely ill as were 3 of us with many of the symptoms, we were all better in 48 hours and he was left with this awful overly 'productive'

cough. I think that he is now getting better thankfully by himself as the GP didn't seem overly concerned re the risk of Swine Flu. He has had an xray and left a rather unpleasant sample re his coughing I dont know if that will be diagnostic or whether it has to be a blood test.

Hope you are feeling better much soon. Here's something to keep you going and the fever down.

 

Very interesting about that cough. The other week we thought DS had brought it back from Exeter uni, having stayed there a few days, but the docs here weren't interested and the guy on NHS Direct spoke to him, but decided it didn't merit further interest as angry teenager said he was fine and it was just a cold that he caught from his girlfriend. DD has a really bad cough - she has suffered with asthma recently. So last week went to the docs for a puffer. Not once was the flu mentioned and she has been puffing away more than a steam strain. And she is quite sore now chest-wise. Both OH and I have had snuffles, but we get hayfever, but not noticed any other symptoms for ourselves.

So little wonder it has spread - then in the local magazine it says call the surgery at once.
