Olly
I've just had my 18-year old god-daughter and her best friend staying for a few days, so they could go out and enjoy the mostly free things in London. They are lovely girls, and I really enjoyed having them, but I am not used to having teenagers around. Orange juice. I don't drink it (unless there's vodka hiding in it!), I knew they'd want some ... but THREE LITRES in as many days? How can they drink so much of it? Loo-roll - what do they do with it? Wear it? Eat it? I don't begrudge it, but it would take me weeks to get through that many rolls of the stuff! How can they possibly sleep for so long? It was fun having them to stay but I must say it's nice to have the house to myself again tonight. They have left behind some deliciously trashy magazines that I wouldn't dream of buying, I am going to settle down on the sofa and enjoy them! clootie
I had to re-read your post there Olly, Groundhog Day moment !!
Janty
Mine doesn't sleep but he comsumes copious amounts of fruit juices and squashes. He eats five, six, maybe seven apples a day as well as anything else he can get his hands on and don't get me started on what he does with the loo roll as I have no idea but we go through it at a phenomenol rate. Happy chickens!
I don't think you should be complaining!! (Are you sure they didn't put the vodka in?!)
Olly
Now you mention it, I haven't checked the vodka bottle!
Guest
I am old enough to remember when real orange juice was a bit of a luxury, and was served in small juice glasses - sometimes as a starter! My 17 year old also drinks it by the litre, but I comfort myself that it is good for him and provides some of his 5 a day. He can happily sleep until 3 or 4 pm without needing the loo, food or water! I know I was NEVER like that, so I don't know where he gets it from. Now my daughter is on holiday from uni too, the little boy next door who demands all my toilet roll middles for his junk modelling is in danger of disappearing under the deluge...... Alis girls
I have a 13 yr old boy who seems to spend a lot of time opening the fridge door and surveying the contents. Then he moves on to cupboards and rummages around like a demented badger till he finds something which pleases him and off he goes - if I've been baking I have to hide the fruits of my labours otherwise his vacuum cleaner atachment hoovers up anything he fancies!! i thought girls would be different but obviously not. i will add he is slim muscular with a 6 pack -GRRR
Alis girls
Just a thought Olly - loo roll - could they be stuffing it down their bras to enhance their figures? And yes I did it as a girl - hard to believe it now but I was plank like in my teens
Ain't Nobody Here
My 17 yr old drinks fresh orange juice by the gallon too . He doesn't eat apples however (unless I present them cut into segments ).
Egluntyne
Loo roll......they use it by the metre to remove their make up.
Snowy
I blame my self emptying fridge on the teenager - as fast as I fill it, it empties (and it's not a little fridge, it's a full height jobby) Same with loo rolls and squash. Now I hide the loo rolls and refuse to buy any liquid other than milk.
Olly
It was also a lot of fun, they watch Freeview channels that I didn't know existed, they are both very glamorous and wear the most gorgeous clothes, and they were so excited about exploring London, unfortunately I didn't have time to take them out anywhere. God-daughter is possibly coming back again with her boyfriend later in the year .. I suggested they could come while I'm on holiday and chicken-sit, but that suggestion didn't get taken up for some reason! nochucksyet - I don't think either of them needs the loo-roll in the place you're suggesting! I think Egluntine could be right, now I've just emptied the bin in their room.
Alis girls
Should use cotton wool - loo roll goes soggy On the subject of juice ES also drinks it by the gallon and would take it straight out of carton but I threw a hissy fit and said we were civilised - I like to think we are, he didnt like my cranberry juice so i was quite pleased about that. Our food bills are astronomical - but his friends are the same - all our converations are about raids on the fridge - i have threatened to lock it but hes probalbly got bolt cutters under his bed
chickencam
I have 2 teenagers and we use loo roll by the ton and feeding them seems to be a constant task, and they sort of shed stuff like dandruff, no sooner have you vacuumed and tidied than there is tuff everywhere again. We also get through tons of shower gel and hot water, even my son washes these days in the quest for romance
Alis girls
I found my tweezers on sink and asked ES what he was using them for - he was worried re a mo"Ooops, word censored!"row I offered to take him toget it waxed but refused He uses all my shampoo and frizz ease cos we both have hair that frizzes. And i dont moan about deodorant as at one time he wouldnt wear it not he wears tons
feemcg
.......laughing at Snowy's 'a full height jobby' comment........maybe that's where all the loo roll goes ( or is it only us north of the border that will find it funny? )
Ain't Nobody Here
Hee hee, I had a chuckle at that too .
jlo
That meaning didn't even occur to me until I read your post feemcq! Now I can hear Billy Connolly comments in my head!
Griffin
My girls are 12, 10, 7 and 4 and it's already like that in my house. It's only going to get worse isn't it?

Lesley
.......laughing at Snowy's 'a full height jobby' comment........maybe that's where all the loo roll goes ( or is it only us north of the border that will find it funny? ) I'd forgotten about the double meaning! It makes Midlanders laugh as well ....and I can go anyway as my two are not teenagers any more It does sound like my son though - he's 35, drinks gallons of water, raids the fridge and keeps very odd hours........goes to bed between 2am and 4am and can't get up in the morning. The luxury of him not having children I suppose........my daughter doesn't live like that
Plum
Olly you forgot to mention the cereal
Ain't Nobody Here
Oh, yes, the cereal . My YS thinks a balanced diet is having a bowl of cereal instead of every meal (given half a chance) and the occasional one in between if he's peckish . Alis girls
Or they snack on it in its dry form, but stand or sit with packet and just dip their mits in then if thats not bad enough they leave it open to go stale. Our sons must be related.
Aunty e
I still do drink gallons of orange juice, to the point where I rarely buy it, as it gets too expensive. I remember my mum always complaining about how much juice we all drank too.
