ali-s
I havent got chickens yet! but which book would you recommend from the shop, to help with advice on keeping chickens? Any help would be great. Starting with chickens by Katie Thear is a good beginners book, but I don't see it in the Omlet shop. The Practical Poultry magazine is a good read too. WHS will have copies. The best source of information by far is this forum I have learnt so much on here, far more than I would have done reading a book
ubereglu
WHSmith-HAVING copies of Practical Poultry!!! I don't think so. Not where I live anyway-if I go to the Weymouth one they stock it. But otherwsie I get it from a lovely little newsagents in Langport.
Martin B
Any newsagent can order it in if you ask them too!
ubereglu
That's a point-might try that. But then that would encourage me to spend more money!!! Opps. Anyway we're going to Langport at the weekend as it's Dad's birthday, so will buy it then. That's why I'm not going to Essex!!! I don't think Dad would want to drive me there any time of the year-let alone on his birthday!

Paola
Chook decs are hanging on the tree. My eldest spotted them and told OH OH said b****y chickens and then said to the kids that when we do not have enough money for food it is because Mum has spent all our money on chicken stuff

The Dogmother
Even I think that's cool Emma, and I don't like ornaments Might have to get one when I get a fleece. I'll check the colour of the fleeces at the weekend when I see kate's though. if it's too pink it might clash with my hair
