In need of your support

Recommended Posts

I feel in need of a bit of Omlet support this week.

I am going to a funeral on Friday for three children who died from a house fire in Openshaw last month. ( latest news link http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1128637_dad_charged_with_fire_murders

The link I have with them is I was doing supply teaching in the class of the youngest child who was 8. I want to go and pay my respects to the family but think a funeral of one so young is just so unfair.

I just feel so sad about it all

Oh my goodness, how desperately sad. I don't envy you that one at all although I can certainly see why you would want to go. I've been fortunate in that I've never had to go to the funeral of a child, I know I would sob and be no good to anyone. Will be thinking of you and the poor poor family, there are not the words to express what should be said, well done for going, really really best wishes

it's a tragedy and it is right that those attending will be terribly affected. The criminal charges, if they are pursued and result in a conviction, will bring nothing, so paying your respects in this way is a positive thing to be doing. Good for you. :(

Thank you all for your lovely words of support, you all know the right things to say. Have heard today that the family wants everyone in bright colours for the funeral. I have never been to a colourful funeral so feels a bit odd not doing the black suit, but I think they are looking at is as more of a celebration.

Think I will still be a mess, but its lovely knowing you all care.

Thanks

More {{{hugs}}} from me too, I went to a "bright" funeral last year and although it felt strange beforehand, somehow it just felt right on the day...the lady in question never wore black & had stipulated colours...I wore a very bright red/orange/pink silk number, but did tone it down with a silver grey smart jumper & boots (the lady had had a "thing" about boots too!)......bystanders were a bit bemused though :):anxious:

Take lots of tissues, I think they may be needed :anxious:

Thank you all for your kind thoughts, it does make a difference knowing people all ver are thinking abut you, you are all so kind.

It was a lovely service and so many people were there. I even held it together and could sign the hymns (hate when you cant d that for tears).

John's coffin was far too small.

It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone looked so bright and colourful.

Thank you
