Going to lakeland..............

Recommended Posts

We were visiting the in laws last weekend in Reading, went shopping in the Oracle and picked up a Shops map....was very excited to see Lakeland, so me and DS were on a mission to find it (eventually we did - it was actually outside).....to find the store hadn't opened yet and was still empty. :(

Probably saved me lots of money though! :D

Enjoy! :D

Oh wonderful, I went to Windsor last time I *needed* something from Lakeland and forgot it was still tourist session so spent an age getting in and parked :(

had my grumpy OH with me which spoiled the experience. He just didn't 'get' it

Have fun and don't spend too much! I went to one but had my grumpy OH with me which spoiled the experience. He just didn't 'get' it

Yep even though my OH cooks and he loves gadgets when it comes to tools or electricals he was *very* disapproving when I came home  I won't take him with me so Reading is perfect.

Whereabouts in Reading is it Sarah ? I didn't notice one about to open last time I went in

A - it was a bit overwheleming really.When I have a mission to but something,it will be great,but I just wanted EVERYTHING!

B - I was weighed down by a new coat I found for Devon in Primark - £18, & just gorgeous!

C - I really needed a wee :oops::roll::lol:

I love Lakeland and look forward to receiving their catalogues. My local Lakeland is a one and half hours drive away in Aberdeen. There is a new shopping complex in town that was completed a couple of years ago. All the units are standing empty and I always think as I pass that a Lakeland would fit in very nicely.

We always visit the Winderemere store when we are visiting OH's parents in Kendal.

I like their recipe book & bakeware mainly. They do some brilliant cake tins. The chocolate eclair tin is amazing. I'd really love to find a Battenburg tin though.

You didn't even buy a Lock n Lock container?

Our Lakeland at Handforth is about 45 minutes drive away & I love their cafe. Mind you afternoon tea there the last time was disgraceful. Dry bread, a large wrongly cut through scone, no clotted cream & the dregs from the coffee machine. Still waiting for hubby to write his complaint, as it was pre diet times..(11 weeks ago).

Lakelands clothes pegs are brillint too. No pinch marks left on clothes. They also sell a fab spray that irons your clothes by magic - great for travelling.

Oh & the cherry liqueurs at Christmas are to die for!

I know - use them all the time.

I am actually venturing back into town tomorrow to return the lovely coat I bought for Devon which she says is awful  , so I will have another look.

I do like those Anton Berg marzipan & cherry thingys they do...................& I didn't even venture to the downstaris department today!

I stocked up on Loxk & Lock last week in John Lewis - 4 nice big flour ones for all my flours....they work a treat in my cupboard :P

Always,as ever, room for more Lock & Lock in my life though :lol:

I couldn't live without their cake tin liners...especially the loaf tin liners which I use when making Nut Loaf (yes I know very hackneyed, but I do make it from time to time)although we don't wear sandals or cardis......

They have some seriously brilliant stuff

And some stuff which has always been described in our house as "Knitted Toe Covers"" you know the sort of thing...solutions for a problem you didn't know you had until they solved it....a counter top bin for tea bags for example..... :?:

I love the loaf tin liners too - such a brilliant idea and beats making your own.

They used to do a re-useable non-stick baking tray liner with sticky on one side so it didn't slip around - they've discontinued that

If you give them suggestions, they will think about bringing it back! :D
