Today at work a woman I sometimes work with said to me "I love you Bex, you're so nuts!"

 

What's the best / strangest compliment you've ever had? (I'm taking it AS a compliment - I could be wrong )

The nicest was from one of my neighbours - she said I was so brainy. I'm not, but it cheered me up no end.

DD told me a little while ago that I was her "special person". That is, the one she could confide all her innermost hopes and fears to.

 

That made me happier than anything else in the world.

'Your Mum is so lovely' from ED's friends when they were having a sleep over a few weeks back

 

and on Sunday when ED rang us to say that they had finished their her DofE silver pratice expedition, we said would you like us to bring your group an ice cream, and she said yes and they all said that they would give us lots of love in return. Their faces were a picture when we arrived with 4 dripping ice creams that we had driven 5 miles with

My doctor told me that I am lovely and she's always happy when she sees me on her patient list. I think thats an unusual but lovely compliment

I recently volunteered to take over the running of our school library (which has been neglected for 3 years ) and was told I was definitely the best person to do it .

 

The Head Teacher also told me I'm really important to the smooth running of the school .

About 15 years ago my OH said to me, "You can really park" as I reversed my car into a tight space. I honestly don't think I've ever been so pleased about a compliment in my life!

Anther one that made us laugh at work was a patient telling the Dr he'd seen the "lovely nurse with the cold hands" I had been doing an ECG and my hands are never warm and I apologised for it as I pressed electrodes onto his chest. I have never lived it down as the receptionists tell anyone booking for an ECG - " just to warn you shes got cold hands"

I can't remember what I said earlier today, but it resulted in DD saying "Oh mum, I looove you" loosely translated means "you are more stupid than me". Not far off Seagazer's " hand patting deary".

Actually my mum told me something her best friend had said once and that was that she thought I was a really good mum which made me happy

Just thought of some more positive compliments received over the years.

 

DD's friend saying to her "You're Mum is just so cool".

 

A patient on the ward where I worked as a nurse telling me I was the best nurse there as I was very efficient at my job but not at the expense of caring.

 

My younger friend (who has a 4 year old) recently saying to me that she took my parenting style as her role model because I'd done such a good job with DD.
