Chucky1
That's a nice neat job. Looks pretty sturdy too. I'll certainly look at doing something similar. Do I see that there is also an anti tunnel skirt around the edges? Is this just for during the day or would you leave the run and cube open on a warm night - if we ever had any of course Edited September 26, 2009 by Guest
Plum
Wow that is great for them . Lucky you having all that space. You'll have great muscles moving it
Dawno
Yes we do have the netting splayed out around the edge,we bought the netting 48" high, the run is 40 "high we then folded the remaining 8" out, the run turned out the same height as the extended cube run after adding the roof panels so it worked out really well. We have seen a fox at the back of our garden where the trees are so thought it would be a good idea, this is why we cant let the chicken roam free. Jules.
It does look good Just a word about WIR's & the wind- if its windy the run will up & over if its not anchored down, as people on this forum have found out. Can you secure it to the ground some way?
ChrisEllis
It does look good Just a word about WIR's & the wind- if its windy the run will up & over if its not anchored down, as people on this forum have found out. Can you secure it to the ground some way? I agree plus fox or something might dig up and start lifting it, what about those things that people hit balls through i dont know what its called but its like an arch, stcik some of them into the sides. But this does look like an awesome setup so neat and tidy and infact im considering maybe doing it for mine, i havent decided...
Lewis
Slabs and plant pots around the outside, or tent pegs will anchor it down
Dawno
spoke to OH, he says that the run when the roof panels are in place is so heavy that it would take a hurricane to move it, also the roof has open mesh so the wind can blow through. As for a fox it would have to get through the anti dig mesh around the edge and be built like a weight lifter to move anything, The chickens are shut away at night and the cube extension run gate is closed...dont think we can do any more...just keep our fingers crossed like everyone else.
