4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

CookieMonster's OH collected something from ours last Saturday and dropped off the red eglu (Anfield) that is now home to the hooligan Duckiquacks.

 

Whilst he was walking through the garden, he saw the babies and asked what they were. I said to CookieMonster that he was quite taken with them and I didn't think she would have much resistance if she was to ask for some.

Dalglish, the amazingly over-friendly LF Australorp

 

Please excuse the ducks...they have grown up free ranging around the babies' eglu and now they think that they are friends. Trouble is, they want to preen the babies and they are having none of it.

Ooooooohhhhhhh they are soooooooooo cute!!! Love the ducks as well!! I want ducks but my OH won't hear of it - he said that they poo even more than chickens!

My OH wasn't so keen at first and we were only looking after them for the in-laws but they have grown on him and he spent the weekend re-arranging the garden to include a ducky area.

Am just getting 4 more girls on Sat which will make my total 9 (I was only ever going to have 3 !), but did just say that maybe 5 would be better as it's an even number - he said he was going to put his foot down with a firm hand. Bless - he will give in when he sees those poor little ex bats.

Yes Cookie, Janty has some of those too!

 

Although it took a couple of trys as if I recall correctly it was the blue egg layers that keep becoming boys

I was only going to have 3 as well......now I have 21 Dh always gives in as far as chooks are concerned...he tries to play the part of Prudence, but doesn't have a firm enough hand .......mind you his hand is very firm if I suggest a new baby............

 

Janty, what beauties, no wonder Mr CM was smitten ...she does have that "emergency" now...and it's a shame to have it empty.........

 

Oh CM, are you here too , I have a "bitza" bantam that I am hoping is going to produce blue eggs, she's my Araucana x Jasmine.......fingers crossed she'll lay sometime soon, she's about 18 weeks now & her brood sisters are very red in the face now especially Clover who looks a bit like she could have some mottled Pekin in her from Janty's pics.

No, even those have chooks in them somewhere !! I was trying to find a pic of my two children on there the other day & went about 100 in before I found one of my son & grandson
