AJuff
I collected DS from a rugby day at 6.15pm, I can't believe Newcastle played a Bradford school!!!! On the way home I reminded him he needed his kit for school team photos tomorrow. I totally forgot to wash them until now!!! I'm sat waiting for them to finish in the machine . . . . why didn't I think earlier?
Ain't Nobody Here
Been there, forgotten that . Got a tumble drier? Or is it radiators and hope for the best ?
AJuff
Radiators and hoping for the best . . . . thought I'd give them a blast before I go up to bed!!!
bluekarin
when I was at school and I'd washed my socks the night before and hoped they'd be dry for the morning (they never were as we had no heating in the house well, one heater on the landing, but not enough to dry anything) I used to use my hair dryer to dry socks and any other items. You have to be careful you don't burn out the element though. It can start to smell a bit hot. I've been known to do it now with my kids socks and my ED has also started doing it too. A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I've been known to hairdryer things and double hairdryer things on radiators in needs-must situations...
sparkysmum
This happens all too frequently in our house. I have to set an alarm to get up to tumble stuff so they'll be wearable in the morning Glad to know I'm in such good company
craftyhunnypie
why not buy a spare set of everything & keep it in the packets. Then when this happens again - you can just go open the packets! But remember to replace the packets - for the next emergency! Emma.x
Chook n Boo Mum
Welcome to my world My best one is bring all the kit home at half term or even end of term, wash most stuff then & discover the worst bag...still full of toot and dependent on the term....on the Sunday morning before DS goes back on Sunday evening Sha x
Seagazer
My YS's school operates a 2 week timetable and on one of the weeks he has PE 3 times in the week plus he goes to rowing club once a week after school. I've given up and bought an extra set now as it was impossible to get it all washed and dried. Especially as it all has 'no tumble drying' on the lable, I've actually tumble dried one set just to see what happened and its all fine. I'm sure the school shop just do that to make you buy more sets
majorbloodnock
Rugby kit? Wash? In our rugby playing youth, neither I nor my father ever had kit containing two sleeves from the same original jersey or with a complete absence of rips or tears. It always needed to be clean enough for others to see which side we were on, but more than that was just levels of elegance imposed by respective other halves. My brother was more fastidious; he insisted that his shirt, shorts and socks matched. However, even he once dressed for the first game of a season to find grass growing on his shorts (the last game of the previous season was rather muddy, and he'd obviously been more concerned on celebrating the win than washing his kit). ubereglu
Oops. I think we've all done things like that. Eg, forgetting to wash the one school jumper on the Sunday that was needed for the next day!
