Cinnamon
I bought one of THESE as a stocking filler for a child in the family, but its so great I have kept it for myself & ordered several more to put in the hampers & so forth. They will look great in the garden in the summer too - they really, really glow & are hugely tactile

Chucky Mama
These are fun http://www.snapcapp.com/ You can get them on eBay. I got a couple that were slightly different but I can't remember where I got them
Olly
Sorry, nothing to add but I'd like any suggestions for things to put in crackers. I've got some of those make-your-own crackers (purchased on sale in Waitrose in January!) and I need ideas for some small items that might fit inside a cracker. So far I've got some ear rings, well studs actually, but not much else.

Lewis
I love Hawkin's Bazaar for cheap and expensive oddities. ... and me Last year I bought a load of really cheap things from them and wrapped them up to put on the table for christmas and we all had instruments and had to play a christmas song
majorbloodnock
A few years ago, I bought a zipaway kite (from Brookite, and shown on http://www.brookite.com/acatalog/Mini_Flyers.html about half way down) and put it on my keyring. It keeps both kids amused at those times when they're starting to feel a bit bored, and since it's on my keyring we've always got it available. Valkyrie
We put packets of seeds in the crackers for grandparents - we named the crackers so each had something personal. For the children - those magic expanding face flannels.
Olly
seeds and lottery tickets - what great ideas! Thanks, I think this year my group of girlfriends is each going to get a personalised cracker, and I'll spend a maximum of £5 on filling each one - appropriate seeds, a lottery ticket, a couple of chocs etc - I can't wait to get started! I might make some chocolate truffles myself. Thanks for the suggestions, sorry I haven't added much in the way of stocking-filler answers. I do stockings for both my sisters, and usually it's those sample-size toiletries from Boots or Superdrug, a rolled-up magazine, little odds and ends I've picked up in craft fairs or bargain sales, and of course always a foil-wrapped chocolate coin and a tangerine in the toe. (Sisters are 60 and 58 respectively, I should add!)

Cinnamon
Christian,I saw all of those in M&S yesterday - especially love the puzzle & the cookie cutters Actually there are lots of really lovely things in there this year
Mrs Webmuppet
I love Hawkins Bazaar for pressies. LMW is science mad so a few of their kits always end up in the basket and the stockings chez Webmuppet are judged to be incomplete without at least one clockwork bug/penguin etc.
ubereglu
I found that in Body shop they have brought back the animal soaps they used to have in the children's range this Christmas, so I may just have to buy a bag of them as stocking fillers for my family!
