bluekarin
What a lot of lovely pressies everyone has got! My YD (10, with her own money) gave me a pair of slippers and a Homedics quad massager! DS (11) filled a jar of chocolates with some holly leaves and berries on top ED didn't manage, but she was ill so I'll let her off She was in a good mood and not a stroppy so and so, so I shall take that to be my pressie I also got a lovely bracelet from hubby (ordered for my bday earlier this month, but came just before Christmas!) a biscuit barrel from John Lewis with the Scandinavian inspired design lots of biscuits a large Tefal wok/saute pan grinder for spices/coffee etc coffee beans for grinder hot chocolate gift set pumpkin, ginger and apple chutney my sister made (yummy) The kids got some cool pressies. ED and DS had an electric guitar kit from us which they have been bursting to get, and my parents bought them a graphics tablet for the computer as they like drawing on it, and is quite difficult using a normal mouse. Seagazer
I'm not sure if she was putting on a brave front or not but she said she needed the tyre! Personally I would have fitted the tyre round his middle and possibly ironed him He's done it before though, she got saucepans one year..... Valkyrie
Let me think now - a rake, a fork, a spade, numerous watering cans over the years - one of which was my 40th birthday present. And my in laws an activity holiday - we'll you've seen the size of me! It's obviously in the genes, so I have to be lenient. I know how it works with the tyre! Then again they do surprise you - can't complain with the chickens. Seagazer's sister's OH probably is much the same and makes up in other ways. docsquid
DH bought me a powered mitre/bevel saw one year. The bloke in the shop gave him a really hard time about buying power tools for his wife for Christmas... ...except that I actually wanted it for making various things! I was very pleased with it, and we've made loads of things with it since, including wardrobes, nest boxes for birds, picture frames, chicken climbing frames. I like woodwork! I think I might draw the line at a tyre though
Woodcat
I'm not sure if she was putting on a brave front or not but she said she needed the tyre! Personally I would have fitted the tyre round his middle and possibly ironed him He's done it before though, she got saucepans one year..... Maybe she could buy him something she wants next year.... a pair of high heels for instance or perhaps a list of things she would like. If anyone ever buys me a tyre or an iron i'm not sure they'd live till the new year I had a lovely coat, a chicken calender, a chicken plant cover so i can have chicken shaped plants and a computer mouse that is a mouse, with the buttons as ears and a few other little bits. This is the first time I've ever had chickeny things for Christmas
Looney
I've had a good chuckle about the tyre! OH bought me a steriliser for Christmas a couple of years ago. Ok, so I was pregnant but with OUR child! And then he got huffy because I wasn't jumping with joy about the "thoughtful" gift He does buy me fab presents too though. It was my birthday on Christmas eve and I got my much wanted Pandora bracelet and some charms which I am over the moon with. I love it and the kids bought me a chicken charm The kids have had a Wii between them and I got a Wii fit with the bundle (which was kind of for me ) so Im looking forward to having some time on that. I have only managed to stand on it once so far and was really pleased that it told me I was 'overweight' not 'obese' I knew that anyway

MedusA
Apologies for the lateness of my contribution.... The best present I got this year was from DD and was the first in the "Bunnicula" series of books. It's aimed at 10 year olds (so my age group then ) and is the story of a vampire bunny. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bunnicula-deborah-James-Howe/dp/0590313185/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1262520409&sr=8-20 I also got a lovely bee brooch from OH and various bee-related items of kitchenalia. Only one chicken item this year - a wine bottle stopper.
