I missed the fire brigade visit as OH picked up the boys on that day. Apparently the playgroung was swarming with giggly teachers and mums .

I got the Fishermans Friend innuendo, just couldn't bear to put one in my mouth! They are VILE!

 

Merocets are really good when you have a sore throat, there's nowt to beat the numbing when you have a raging sore throat.

 

But I don't have a sore throat, just a niggly feeling and lots of croakiness (sp?)

 

Still been drinking loads today and keeping up one hell of a routine to make sure I send these darned bugs to the hills!!!

 

Will try the Honey and Lemon drink when I go up to bed tonight, if I can bear not having my G&B Hot Chocolate!!

 

But for now Anita is on her way round for dinner and a rehearsal of our special little routine on Saturday

Did someone mention firemen?????

 

Our new neighbours had a hosuewarming on Saturday night - he's a firefighter, and the house was full of them. I couldn't go because I had Rosie asleep upstairs

we had a small fire at our house earlier this year - someone set fire to our wheelie bins - burnt down fence, part of tree, melted driveway and melted the rear light and number plate on car - fortunately all humans and animals OK although a little .

So there I was standing on driveway at 4.30am surrounded by lovely Fireman - no makeup, hair all over the place and wearing PJs that are only suitable for wearing if you sleep alone or with cats

Well Anita is going to help me with a little samba in the middle of one of the songs - just as long as I remember the steps

 

As for the sore throat I've nuked it to more of a tickly throat but now I'm starting to get congested so I didn't manage to stop a cold coming through

 

Just hope that I can see everything with streaming eyes and sing without too strong a nasally sound - but I'm sure that with some more rest I'll be fine - oh that's out of the question, I've got to keep going to work!!

It's Over!

 

Was a very good evening and with the help of several pills (the over the counter variety only ) my voice held out and got me through my 45 minutes. Anita was a star with the lighting and smoke effects - a great night for her as it's the last time that we'll see her for 6 weeks as she's off to India and doing a Himalayan trek.

 

I may re-think the karaoke idea though, as having a load of drunk people screeching (or one lady howled) and nearly ate the microphone

was a lot for my ears to take.........or was it just because I was sober hours of that is not fun!

 

Still the evening passed with only one technical glitch, my surge protector kicked in as killed the amp (so that was money well invested) and that stopped the sound for 15 secs while it restarted!!

 

Got home very late and completely exhausted but after a nice lie-in today I feel much better, typical!

 

Got to get ready for holiday now - oh and sort out the chooks - poor Geri has chosen the wrong time to have a moult and there's feathers EVERYWHERE!!
