Grey sky and very still today. Trying to rain and a nip in the air.

I have seen 3 flocks of Geese flying South this morning. Off to see Kate Humble and Chris Packham on route to their Winter retreat no doubt. I look forward to seeing the Geese flying back over the Cottage in the Spring.

Sunny morning but clouds thickening and rain forecast for this afternoon.

Birds seem to mark the seasons so much for me too. The curlew heralds spring and I know summer is round the corner when the swifts arrive screeching through the lanes. When the swallows go summer's done and autumn disappears into winter with the skeins of geese flying south and the rooks croaking to each other in the bare trees.

I thought I'd seen my last swallow but there are still a few stragglers whistling to each other as they hunt for insects inches from the grass tops.

The starlings are all gathering here.

6deg when i got up at 6am, but judging by the amount of dew it was well below that last night. Beautiful now though and we've just been dog walking with moochoo, her OH and their pack in Stratford and it was divine - I was too hot in a thin sweater! 17deg in the sahde at home now, will check the temp again when the sun gets round to that side of the house.

I got all my spring bulbs in this afternoon, and then the rain came in. At least it all happened in the right order!

It's cooler and damp here, (understated) I have a pr of very fluffy slippers on from the local market!!!

Seen lots of geese on the move, and still have squads of swallows here; they need to go soon, surely?

Love that sunset, it's stunning

Managed 20 degrees for a brief spell. More cloud than sun but at least the rain held off.

Fieldfares are sitting on the wires "grating" at eachother so I guess the berries in the hedgerows will be gone in a flash.

Pity, I'm still picking blackberries and though they are too waterlogged for me the hens (and Flash) love them, elderberries too :D

Just had an almighty storm well, 7ish ....sent chooks running for the run  I ran out to shut them away for the night...did so. Then heard a mournful cooing form under the privet. Poor baldy gertrude hiding form the rain...cue Benny Hill music, and moi gently wafting her around in the thunder, lightning, hailstones and chicken poop to herd her toward the run. My neighbours must have thought it was hilarious.! The OH then appeared...thought i might want a rain coat.....as I was dripping wet!

horrendous here too. I could have done with a 4x4 today.

Roads flooded from overflowing field ditches. fields that are now lakes. Was in town early today and the shopping centre was closed due to flooding. Some shops closed due to flooding and lots of alarms ringing due to a power cut.

It is still raining and the it is getting very windy.
