missuscluck
Gosh. What a conservative place I must live. I have never seen anyone dressed in pjs or the like. Jeans for me!!
docsquid
A patient of mine was once retrieved from a local supermarket. He was wearing a dressing gown and PJ's (and a hospital ID band). He was fed up with the no smoking policy for patients and had gone to buy some fags!
Helly Welly
Our Tesco's could do with a dress code, you see all sorts. What i can't stand is women's muffin tops hanging out and scrawny boys with no tops on. I don't go anywhere wihout being dressed, not even out the fron door. There are people in our street who will walk up and down the street in their dressing gowns, not a pleasant sight, and it's usually around 10am Can you tell what sort of neighbourhood i live in
Valkyrie
Hah, our nosey neighbour goes out in his dressing gown - well it's above the knees! But slightly better than the bloke next door who does his lawn in shorts and black socks with sandals. I know that in Weston there is no dress code at all for grockles and hems going shopping. It makes OH's cousin feel like heaving every time she has to go shopping in the summer. Quite revolting her accounts - would make a good horror movie. Helly Welly
But slightly better than the bloke next door who does his lawn in shorts and black socks with sandals. Our next door neighbour does exactly the same, all summer he wears the same black shorts, sandals and no top, and believe me he is no stunner in fact he's positively gross, no offence
Lewis
I saw this on facebook! Just wear what ever clothes I'm wearing which is always the same, jeans/trousers + tshirt with hoodie/jacket. I have been to Te$co's with no shoes on though, just socks! It was my aunts wedding + got in the car with no shoes on - never wear shoes if we drive to someones house or walk to the neighbours + means we can't go anywhere after
Old Speckled Hen
A girlfriend and I were walking in Pembrokeshire once when we chanced upon a guy trimming his hedge and all he was wearing was his hedge trimmer

Cooks
my old neighbour used to wear a purple thong in his FRONT garden to weed his plants. He was getting on a bit so it wasn't that great on me ole eyes

Space Chick
Oh no! The Tesco in that article is the one not far from me We don't go to that one though, we go to a different one. I'm not altogether surprised about it though, considering the area that it's in. It isn't the greatest area of Cardiff is it Now I sometimes wear scruffy tracksuit bottoms but usually I wear jeans. I would never consider PJ's Now the sights that the neighbours have seen with the hens is another thing I frequently wear PJ's, wellies and a cardy In fact pics appear on the webcam sometimes, and some of my Omleteer friends hace commented
Charlottechicken
A colleague once encountered a rather overweight gentleman in a supermarket wearing nothing but tight white shorts, rather too small and not covering what you'd expect them to cover Apparantly he was oblivious to the show I use a Tesco near work at lunchtimes so never see anything too bad, and am always in heels and office gear, with matching jewellery too! Looney
Ok. Here's what I think. I would much rather see someone in their pyjamas and slippers than someone apparently fully dressed but in reality showing off far more than you would see than if they had worn their PJs. So what if someone has their PJs on with a coat on top for example, is it really any worse than wearing baggy tracksuit bottoms or loose trousers? Yes, there should be a line drawn if the person is indecent i.e. you can see rather too much of what you wouldn't want to see but let's not criticise for the sake of it because someone has less fashion sense than we think we have. Sorry, not meaning to be awkward, like I say there should be some limits.....
sadietoo
Apparently what look like PJs and uggs is very de la mode in student circles ( check out Jack Wills website if you don't believe me)..Personally I'm very glad to see the back of the trend for people wearing football kit who aren't about to go and play football. Generally though I have to say I am very very u"Ooops, word censored!"servant, and don't really care what anyone else is wearing..(or not) and as the old saying goes...you can't judge a sausage by its skin
Cooks
my children have been known to be in their football kit if we have popped into the supermarket on the way/way back from a game, but never myself.. I dont care what children wear to the shops, I have seen pricesses, spidermans etc.. whatever makes them happy..
Cinnamon
The one thing I really object to children wearing in supermarkets are those bloomin' Heelie things,or roller skates One mum I know a bit admitted that she took her tribe of 3 pre-teens to Tesco,so they could play on their wheels in the aisles, while she did her shopping in peace. Unbelievable...........................
The Dogmother
I hate those things too Sarah - there are always children racing about on them in the local shopping centre
Cooks
our supermarkets ban them... no heelies allowed.. thank goodness.
Couperwife
I once saw a little-un on a bike riding straight along the line of tills in tescos I said rather loudly "I hope that her mother doesnt mind if she gets knocked down, because she will if someone comes round the corner too quick" child soon disappeared - dont know where to cathy x
Cooks
it amazes me how some mothers just use the supermarket as a stopping ground for their catch up chats and block all the aisle off... theres a cafe! get a coffee! bah humbug!
Cinnamon
Talking of supermarkets, another thing that really gets my back up is mums who allow their children to ride in the main part of the trolley. Their filthy shoes go all over where the next poor shopper has to put their food - revolting. Plus it must be dangerous for the child. Lewis
I had some heely shoes yeeeears ago They were £5 from the Entertainer because they weren't selling, so me + my friend got some, but we were rubbish at it! Then a couple of years later they came back and sold really well and now are everywhere! I don't think they're too bad, just not around shops. Busybird
I don't do much shopping (other than on line ) but when I do need to visit a shop I usually make the 4 mile journey to town on my bike so am dressed for that - tracksuit bottoms, trainers and hoody or t-shirt - not a great look on somebody my shape and size I'm afraid. I will be washed and brushed to start but, after the journey, probably look a bit wind blown Quite a few years ago, when the children were toddlers, I used to shop with Boden who did a range of brushed cotton tartan and paisley print pull on trousers that I loved - so comfy. I used to wear them when taking my kids to preschool or to soft play warehouses and this embarrassed some of my better turned out friends as they said I looked as if I was wearing PJ's. I probably should have cared more than I did
