Valkyrie
Empire line dress - one sheet and any puff sleeved t-shirt/blouse. Use a large ribbon to tie the sheet under the, well . . . ahem, overhang and you can have it in a nice bow at the back - Jane Austen style. Sheilaz
**runs off to hide** Hey, no need to hide, that was wonderful Poet! I'm really proud of you, it's such a hard thing to do. Well done, and the "prize" was thoughtful wasn't it? The poem is terriffic, thanks for posting, I really like it, you are very talented. You must send it to Hugh, it's a great poem, I love it. First time I've heard your accent, it can be funny hearing an Omleteer for the first time, sometimes the voice is surprising, but yours was just how I'd imagined, & very well suited to the poetry. Great work J, and I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to think of doing it again, it'll be easier each time.

You are very brave getting up, first, in front of all those people and to speak so clearly.

Guest
thank you so much for the morale boosting comments! It took me a long, long time to pluck up the courage to get up there but I've wanted to do it for ages. I've been going to their poetry nights for years now and they're a very supportive lot, which helps! I kept saying that Gok Wan mantra over and over in my head "it's all about the confidence!" and tried my best to fake some confidence! It seemed to go over well and what with all the supportive comments I've had, it's made me want to do it again! For anyone who thinks they can't do it, you can! I just thought, what would i regret more...trying and not enjoying it or not trying at all... I don't like to have 'what ifs' hanging over me so I went for it It's funny because speaking to some of the other poets who seemed to make it look easy, they also said the same about being terrified to get up there so even the people who seem the most confident are still shaking inside! Thanks again for your support, I seriously mean it when i say it means a LOT!!!!
Lesley
My signature on another forum is "If you have regrets, regret the things you've done rather than the things you haven't" You would have regretted not doing it.
