SNOW DAY

Recommended Posts

 Proper snow, as forecast, a couple of inches, we haven't had this for ages.

Esther is so excited, but school appears to be open, (as they should be) unless there's a last minute change.

Just wish this wasn't the day that I was supposed to be taking Mother to the doctor's. Just routine, but took a month to persuade her, and she doesn't want to go. It's the 1st time since Father died, and she is angry that he didn't visit and worried that she might cry anyway.

Personally I don't think he's going to say anything not connected with her repeat prescriptions.

So, a big day, but don't know that I'll be able to get her there,

Well, off to watch Esther make the 1st footprints,,,last time we had a speck, the hens got there 1st, won't let them out yet.

They're looking very bemused.

Have fun in the snow everyone. Who has the most?

Sarah, you made the first footprints here! Hope your cold clears soon. xx

At 7am when I went out to let the girls out and break the ice on their water, it was very cold and frosty with rock hard frozen mud but a clearish sky and not a sign of snow.

Half an hour later it is snowing quite heavily, (very fine snow) and the ground is beginning to be covered already.

Son's boss has phoned to say they are all having a day off....(works Chesterfield/Mansfield) and its snowing really heavily there.

Well it's snowing here in Derbyshire too!

Got quite good coverage and it's still coming down - Molly has already been out for her stroll and looks very happy - just sad that I'll miss the laydee's first day in the snow but texting the foster parents to take a photo for us!!

Ahh - sat inside the caravan as snug as a bug with a steaming mug of coffee

This is the life..........

Well, I've just got back from work, having closed the school. Every one of my staff made it in, despite some of us living in really rural places, but the secondary in the same town had closed (pathetic) and our feeder infant school had closed, because their heating system has packed in, so the decision was made to close too... lots of parents were phoning in from 7.00 am onwards telling us their children were "sick"

Can't blame them: What a lovely day!

So, here I am, back at home, eating some toast and drinking hot chocolate! :D8)

Then its off up the hill with Molly dog. 8)8)

Here's the view from my window...

I'll try again, just crashed on me trying to leave a post

It's gorgeous here! :D:D:D

But I'm sat at work waiting for clients who can't get here because of the snow

While OH is at home with the 3 boys having a great time 8)

I just hope I can get home later - out the window I can see 2" and still snowing steadily, and that's in the town. We live out in the sticks and it's usually worse there! I want to go home and play :(:(

PS Great pics everyone! Seeing them is nearly as good as going home! :D
