The Dogmother
I spotted this in the Fired Earth factory shop near me, when I popped in to get some sealant for the reclaimed quarry tiles. Couldn't resist it and it's now a coaster while I decide what to do with it.

Old Speckled Hen
It's lovely. It belongs in the kitchen. Is there not a tile somewhere you can chip out and substitute it. OR failing that ..can you put it in your quarry tile floor somewhere out of the way where you won't walk on it? YES, I think that's it ... a semi-hidden floor tile
The Dogmother
That's lovely too Cooks. Unfortunately it's smaller than the quarry tiles, which are reclaimed 6" tiles. And the wall tiles will be rectangular. I may use it as coaster on the work surface.

The Dogmother
I've put some ticky felt pads on the bottom of my tile, so that I can use it as a coaster while I decide whwat to do with it.
ubereglu
That's nice. We need to redo our kitchen, but the problem is the size tiles we used aren't made any more, not like Dad could start on it at the minute!
Plum
I think you should put it in your chicken garden. I am aiming to cover the fence posts and gravel boards then do the risers on the steps. I've just used a few to see how they get on over the winter and they are fine even with this flippin weather. Send it to me Claret I have just the place for it

ubereglu
Lovely, I may have to wander into the Fired Earth shop near us one day soon..... Sha x I wouldn't...you'll end up spending hours there looking at all the pretty things and spend lots of money! There's a fired Earth shop in Sherborne and they sell gorgeous tiles, and quite a good range from the Jackfield Tile museum.
Cooks
have a slight confession.... when I said my aprents bought it for me.... my dad actually bought it for himself because he liked it, I saw it and well nicked it from him... poor dad should have known better than to show me something with a chicken on it... So Clare have you decided what to do with yours? I wonder how many of us have a chicken tile???

I can't think with it like this! Is your mantra "it'll be worth it when it's finished" yet Clare.......ours was when we were doing our cottage .........nigh on 20 years later and as many extensions as we can sensibly manage, we need to start on the re-decorating bandwagon Sha x
The Dogmother
Yes, I keep reating it to myself when the dust gets to me Just had the last messy stage and it's all constructive from now onwards... I hope It's a pain though - t he coker is in the middle of the living room - good job we never watch the TV. The old kitchen units are all in the dining and living rooms, with al the stuff back in them. Thank goodness for the Remoska though should all be finished in 10 days.
