I've been using that little slidey thing on the BBC web site weather forecast pages, and it seems that the southern half of England is in the path of a huge storm blowing up from the south. It looks as if it will rain solidly for 12 hours.

 

Feel a bit nervous about this - the garden is already a swamp. The eglu is on a ledge off the ground so prolly OK unless there are high winds as well.

 

This winter seems to be going on forever.

65 metres above sea level, but we've never known the forecasters right ever....

We are forecast to get a mix of heavy snow and rain, but if it snows it will melt straight away because it will be quite mild aparently.

 

My uncle and my elderly Grandad are coming for lunch on Sunday, I hope it's not too bad for them on the drive over from Oxford.

WE had snow for 39 hours on the trot - not nice and hope it does not all melt at once!

Our garden is bad, it partially flooded because of a burst mains pipe at Christmas, then snow then rain then more snow which has just thawed

But Monday and Tuesday are forecast to be sunny, dry and mild

Yesterday we were forecast heavy snow on Sunday but today it's sleet. Will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings My garden is also of the swamp variety.

At this point I think I could stop walking Cookie and just let her have swimming practise anyway. I'm running out of trousers to wear as everyday they are just completely mud splattered.

 

I've given up cleaning the shower as Cooks is in there everyday. The walls are covered where she has a shake afterwards. Seems no point in cleaning it, its just going to get filthy the next day.

I'm dreading this - its one time I really do hope they've got it wrong.

 

We already had to rescue our girls and their eglu on Monday morning. The eglu had been sitting on the patio but woke up to find the patio had been replaced by a pond - the glug had actually floated up and off of the bars of the run

 

Our garden is on a very slight slope is now completely saturated and completely mud, all the grass has been washed away.

 

OH went away on Sunday (won't be back till May) so yesterday, when we had strong winds on top of the rain, ES and I were up to our ankles in mud trying to repair a fence panel that blew out

 

I am so fed up of this weather

I'm thinking of getting a rubber dinghy - then I can do a bit of white water rafting down to the bottom of the garden. The girls all walk the plank to their run and the cube - which is slightly higher - it stayed dry all winter so far. Otherwise they hop across the raised veg bed bits - some of those are under water. But from last year's pics I don't think it's quite as bad yet - probably the same after this weekend though.

Oh goodness,not MORE rain

 

The outer edges of the hen pens already have puddles.

The hens seem to quite like them - I haven't had to fill up their superglugs for 2 weeks now

 

I am going to clean them out today,while to going is good......

We're thinking of turning the whole lawn into a paddy field - I saw rice for seed somewhere last year.....can't remember where though.
