Biblical quantities of rain to arrive midnight Sunday

Recommended Posts

Oh deep joy  Paddy fields & flooded roads R Us again :anxious:

I think I shall be taking the big car when I deliver DS and a friend back to school tomorrow night............with oars and waders in the boot just in case :?

Maybe I should go out now & move the woodchip from the front drive where it was delivered earlier today to the WIR so it's not quite so soggy tomorrow

Is that Camden Camden or Basingstoke Camden (after Erin said she was going to Basingstoke and was caught out)?

We appear to be fairly dry at the moment. The high cloud was to the front of us but we still had blue-ish sky at the back - with the big black monster clouds. I don't think we've had rain since I tucked the girls up. That means biiiiig deluge tomorrow - when I hoped it would just blow over during the night. :(

it's been raining here most of thenight, still raining (was lovely yesterday) and my garden is underwater - at the front door you have to negotiate a BIG puddle just to get in - at this rate I'll have to start sandbagging! I know there are people on here who've been flooded before, I really hope you all escape the worst - I have miserable rabbits and miserable chickens and a fairly fed up cat and dog and i for one am SICK of rain and mud!

I only heard the rain in the morning and it was fairly bright when I got up. Lots of floods across the roads going to the Newbury show, but the rain didn't seem too heavy. Nor did the winds appear to be much - in fact there's hardly any. Came back via M4 and the rain is petering out - just a few drizzle spits, only needed the wipers for the spray. So is this the worst it's going to get? :?

Well I can categorically say that in West Sussex at midnight there was not a cloud in the sky........well there wasn't in the part I was being driven through by a lovely AA man with my poorly car on his wagon  .

I think the weathermen should look out of the window & forget long range forecasting..........I'm not saying we haven't had rain, we have, lots of it, just not tonight........perhaps I should now go to bed & hope it doesn't cloud over in the next 2 hours & cloud burst all over us :D

Is the Met Office on a parallel Earth?

Following today's rain, sleet and snow , widespread ice will form on untreated roads and pavements across parts of northern England.

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.

Issued at: 1635 Sun 28 Feb

This after a most glorious sunny day throughout most of the county
