Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 17

Recommended Posts

Morning .. nearly

I have been up for an hour

We were going to go to Maplins and get a new thermostat but you have to get them in kits and have sold out so have to think of a new idea.

Have but a normal bulb in there and was thinking of getting a dimmer plug, but might be hard to calibrate the temp.

The 2 halogen bulbs in there were never off + it was within 1 or 2 degrees F so might leave those on for a few hours and see what temp it gets to

B&Q + bank holiday = madness

Have taken the thermostat out the circuit and just put the 2 bulbs on the power supply and they're flashing - short circuit? :eh:

Have re-wired it and its still happening so I have no idea

Might have to ask Nans OH - an electrician - and see if he knows why :?

Have put a normal bulb in it to see what temp that gets to - 40W, but think might have to use 60W

Nothing can ever go right :(

Well.....

OH and I have just came back indoors after cutting the front hedges!! I have been asking him to help me do it for weeks (too short to do it myself) and he has been putting it off and putting it off but about an hour ago he appeared dressed in his scruffs and told me we were cutting the hedge :D

So the front of my house now looks a lot tidier! :D Just need to get my hanging baskets sorted and 8)

Maybe I do need to got to B&Q afterall

However....I now realise OH motives.........he is off to the pub and wanted to be in my good books so he got a pass

Hi all

The Eglu has been dismantled from it's run so that it can be tucked away under the bushes (still allowing access for birdies, eggs and cleaning) and the run has been placed strategically over a veggie bed - lookin' gooooood! That's made life very interesting to scratching birdies who are now investigating where the run was as though they'd never seen it before. Also the dirt bath has been emptied - the water was getting in, so all the soil has been put on the manky veggie bed. Murray has drilled holes in the bath, washed it and we have moved it halfway up the garden by their "clubhouse" tree. New compost and diatom has been put in there (previously I raked the soil underneath to make it level only to have Tipsy and her new best friend Mercedes scratch it back again). So being sneaky I dug a hole somewhere else so I could finish the other bit. We also have new plastic to put over the top for protection. At the moment the area previously under the bath is a source of entertainment and lots of scratching. The eglu will eventually be moved there.

So having a time-out at the moment.

Oopsie hope your folks didn't blow a fuse, Lewis - and incy's mended soon.

Eww Debs - I think you were very brave to continue eating at that restaurant. I think I would have walked out! Glad the rest of the evening went well.

Well off again - sorry not to reply to everyone's info. See you later folks.

:shock: Hard, very very hard :shock:

We are not having formal lessons anymore, haven't been since last summer, and it is so hard on your own.

Give me some time

Take your time, it takes me weeks sometimes to do a sheet of sentences, but I have a lovely teacher who never puts any pressure on. She teaches on line if your interested. I can honestly say she is THE BEST. It's a shame to have got so far and not to carry on, so many people drop out after only a few lessons. It takes a long time to get to your level. I should know I have been learning for years.

Been to B&Q - yep....complete madness!!!! I ended up buying plants for my baskets and tubs and nothing to build my rabbit hutch shelf......that one needs thinking about

It is windy and horrible outside....think I will pop the plants in the back garden and save that job for tomorrow! NOW...should I paint the rabbit hutch or should I pop my feet up with a nice cuppa.......

Have put the red fireglow in the incy and its holding just about 37.6, was up at 38.4 earlier :?

Can't decide where to put the bulb now though

On the left hand side in the middle of the side, in the middle at the bottom pointing up and have the eggs round it, or at the back in the middle of the back wall (where the 2 halogens were)

I'm thinking either the back or middle so the heat is in the middleish, and I move the eggs about in the incy anyway :)

.... just don't want it too near the trays of water!

Its quite warm + sunny here :)

- I'd paint it and then have the brew Em
