Chucky Mama
My family are hooked but I am not fussed about Dr WHo. However I am really enjoying it tonight and I think the new Doctor is very good.
Laura & CTB
Out of politeness to a guest I had to sit through the Christmas one - nope not for me I'm afraid
Treekeeper
It's been accused of becoming a bit Harry Potterish but I will give it time, after all he wears Harris Tweed so he can't be all bad I just hope it becomes a bit darker further in. Cinnamon
Totally loved it - some great lines in it too 'I am the Doctor,I am worse than everyones Aunt', being my favourite I linked Matt - I like his gawkyness,& think he looks a little bit like Booth from Bones,if you squint I liked the girl too ,& am loking forward to future installments
MimiMeow
Loved the new episode - been a fan of the newest reincarnation of Dr Who since it started 4(?) years ago. Love the new Doctor and love the new assistant - I think she's going to be almost as crazy as the Doctor. Shame I haven't quite warmed up to Matt Smith the actor as quickly though, have listened to a lot of publicity interviews, etc recently and just can't quite warm to him as quickly as I warmed to Eccleston or Tennant. I'm sure he'll grow on me
Lesley
We liked it, I think he's settled in to the role straightaway. Goodness knows how many children will be having nightmares tonight......in fact, I'll be having nightmares tonight .........I hope we don't have any cracks in the walls
Egluntyne
I enjoyed it and could see why he was chosen.
Jules.
I liked it too, & I'm a big David Tennant fan. Roll on the next episide edited for shocking spelling of 'roll' Edited April 4, 2010 by Guest
Seagazer
OH really liked it. Don't shoot me but I don't like the way he looks - he reminds me of the shape shifter from I think Deep Space 9. I enjoyed it and will give him a chance but I didn't like some of his dialogue as it was so obviously said in the way DT would have said it. I liked the assistant and thought they had matched the young and old Amelia very well. There were a good few chuckle moments in it too. Willow
I thought the storyline was a bit weak but I liked Matt Smith. Thought they did a great job of matching the young and the old Amelia
Yorkshire Pudding
I thought the storyline was a bit weak but I liked Matt Smith. Thought they did a great job of matching the young and the old Amelia I was wondering how they had managed to find actresses who looked so similar - but according to 'Dr Who Confidential' they are cousins, hence the resemblance. We LURVE Dr Who in this house, I was hoping Matt Smith would have made the Doctor his own after David Tennant and (my favourite) Christopher Eccleston - we weren't disappointed. miffy
we enjoyed the episode...but.....I must confess to a nagging concern its all getting too Harry Potteresque . Also I hope the new idea of the tardis regenerating doesnt become a srt of Grand Designs or makeover thing with each new script writer or director
docsquid
We watched it, and enjoyed it. I like Matt Smith. I wasn't sure when he was chosen as I thought he was too young, and I would have preferred an old doctor, but he actually carries off being very eccentric pretty well. Not sure about the assistant but I'm sure she will develop her character as the series progresses. It was a nice touch having Annette Crosbie in the episode, recognising the Doctor from her previous encounter with him. Didn't find the episode very credible - I wish one of the script writers would actually go into a hospital and find out what goes on as they clearly have never been near one! Or just ask the guys who wrote Torchwood - that was more realistic. I'm sure once we get the Daleks, the Cybermen and some of the other old favourites in, things will improve on the script-writing front. PurpleTree
I quite liked it and I don't usually watch Doctor Who. I like spotting all the local places though, which adds to it a bit for me
alih
Totally loved it - some great lines in it too 'I am the Doctor,I am worse than everyones Aunt', being my favourite I too loved this quote. I surprised myself by thinking Matt Smith was sexy, cool and oh so witty. I am a die-hard DT fan, but boy the kid has charisma! They are both gorgeous, but terribly young and my only concern is whether MS will be able to carry off the darker, world-weary times as DT did so exquisitely. But a fab romp for ep 1...and the weeping angels are back, which delights and thrills me!
Sam Palmer
Loved it, especially the fishfingers and custard! Some witty lines, I think I'm warming to him, but I'll keep comparing him to Odo now! Didn't like what they've done to the theme music though, particularly the pulsing bit at the beginning. I find that sort of thing migraine-inducing - like the Audi 'vorsprung durch technik' adverts. I always have to cover my ears when they come on, it makes me feel ill.
Scramble
I really like it except the theme tune.
foreveryoung
i haven't watched fully yet, we normally vet it before we let the kiddies watch it. but for some reason they got to it 1st. Have sky plussed it so will watch it later - I'm a David Tennant fan and I think Matt Smith has some very BIG shoes to fill.........
